| i made this the other night. i just got Final Cut Studio from my friend (a $1000+ program) for free and wanted to mess around with it. it's not the best thing i could have done, but it was around midnight and i was bored and this is what i came up with. let me know what you think. i was trying to work on editing and sound effects that enhance scenes. +8 Internets | I made a film to explain a new system at work. I never did anything like it, so every time I edited it, or changed something, it was a learning experience. Not going to link it as it's boring work BS, but I learned stuff like how to do a time lapse, how to work my new fangled HD camcorder, etc. I felt bad for the girl giving her presentation after mine, it was a mono color PowerPoint =*( |

Premiere is really good from what I've seen. I haven't used it much. Avid on the other hand is more professional, yet a bit more complex. I'm working on a short film at the moment. It's nothing great since i did it on my own with my little camcorder, but as soon as its done I'll share it. | |

| Not bad, Feien, but there was a weird vertical line motion blur on the video. I get the same thing with my HD Camcorder when I import it to the computer as well, and I still can't figure out how to get rid of it. Anybody know? |

| Yeah I noticed it. My theory is that it has something to do with the AVChd format and shooting on 24p... a camcorder can only do so much. Plus I don't know what you are editing with, but I need to transfer the clips from the camera as ApplePro Res since Final Cut is not very AVChd friendly yet Edit: Actually I just rewatched the video on youtube pressing the HD button and its waaay worse than it should be. Probably an error on the upload or something. I think I'll just have to reupload in another format or something. Last edited by Feien; 03-29-2009 at 12:09 AM.. |

| I didn't see the video before it was fixed, so I might be off, but did it look like moving zebra stripes? If so, it's your white balance. Tune the exposure down until they go away and you're gtg.

| Know I'm a little late to the thread.. but those zebra stripes normally don't transfer to the video, that's simply used as a tool to see what is overexposed as you film. Those parts will just be overly bright on the film/video. AVChd and 24p.. you were on the right track, but it depends on your camera, the intermediate format, final format etc... It could have happened anywhere in the process. Wish I had a digital copy of the 48hr film and a B&W film I produced before. I moved out of state recently, and lost some things in the process. I've got a copy of my really shitty first student film somewhere, but the whole thing was such an ordeal. We were all given 'roles' like a normal film, but it was still a class and the people 'in charge' didn't actually have any authority.. too many chiefs, not enough indians basically. ha, as I was writing this I remember my director had uploaded a bunch of our stuff to youtube. here's some entries for a heinz commercial contest we did. I'm in all of them actually, heh. I'm the first guy to talk in this one. Yes, we were going for a homo vibe between the two guys talking. It started out as a joke in between outtakes, and I couldn't stop laughing before the last line when he's holding my head, but we finally got a decent take. We had this whole 'what the heinz' theme/pitch going on, with just weird shit. But, we also did some more family friendly ones (or tried to anyway.. the 30 sec time limit really fucked the concept on this one. Jump cutting on me dancing like an idiot ruined the thing, but there was no other way to do it.) |
