| I actually went to watch the movie two times now to make sure my first impression was an accurate review of the film. I do agree with a lot that has been said and have wondered many of the same thoughts others have posted. First, I was not a big fan of the first movie. I liked it the more I caught it on DirecTV but, I still was not impressed with the overall movie. I am a child of the 80's, I know enough about Transfomers to notice when some continuity is out of whach. Also, i'm not much of a Bay basher. I like a lot of his movies but, let me go ahead and get to the sequel. Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was a relatively action packed film but, I felt it was somewhat fragmented. Some of the best parts of the movie were extremely compact and then followed by some awkward filler in terms of the story. There was not enough Optimus, which I felt was very misleading to the audience. From the get go, you get a much better representation of Optimus and a clearer picture of a "Prime" in this movie. Then the world stops and then the last 30 minutes of the movie you get it again. The more unfortunate part of this news is the fact you have 2 more hours of movie without this high octane Transformer action. As many has pointed out, instances like the female hot bot, Constructicons walking around the ruins while they were formed as Devestator elsewhere, and 2 hours of ethnic themed robots did seem to take away from the overall potential of the movie. I don't feel that any of these alone where huge distractions of the movie but, I felt consistently throughout the movie you experienced moments that made you wonder why is this happening in the movie. The movie is a great action flick but it's easy to get your feelings hurt in the movie. I loved the movie in terms of action but I got sucked into the begining. I thought they had a great thing going. Ironhide was really the highlight of the film to me and got shafted in terms of time. Soundwave was great and got the same treatment. You got very little Autobot action and there were some great use of Decepticaons but, unless you followed the internet stills and knew your Transformers you quickly missed it. Great potential in this movie and I did like it much better than the first. However, I felt Bay missed the boat. This movie could have been a something really special and the 3rd still has that chance. If the next movie is the final, I would watch the 86 movie and pay attention to the fanbase. I'm looking forward to the introduction to Unicron, Dinobots, and a resurrection of Devestator. Peter Cullen is just unreal, and I think everyone should watch the movie if nothing else to see some of Optimus's screentime. 3 out of 4 stars as a movie goer 1.5/2 out of 4 as a Transformer's Fan |

Overall I enjoyed the movie more than I was expecting to, but only because my expectations had fallen so low. In general, it was a decent summer flick with terrible editing. | |

| Terrible movie. The only redeeming part are the two hip-hop robots. These are the only two performances from black actors that I've liked in recent years. ![]()

+46 Internets | God dammit, was going through my PB and saw this as a reminder of how much Bay fucked us over.

| ^ Now that looks like a transformer, that is badass. I wish the transformers actually looked like that. But sadly, the transformers in the movie just didn't look good at all to me. And my same complaint as the first movie is when they fight I can't figure out what is going on, it's just one big blur. Yes, I am one of the people who thought the movie was pretty bad. I do like some Michael Bay action/explosion movies like: Armageddon, The Rock, Bad Boys and The Island but this movie was just dumb, like the college scene for example. They have a huge sick room completely pimped out, his roommates run a website from their dorm, and all the girls are supermodels. I know it's a movie but....come on! In reality freshman get put in tiny dorm rooms, are poor, and 1 in every 100 girls might look half as good as those girls. Then you have a college party where freshman all get into the party and the hot girls are of course throwing themselves at the freshman guys. RIGHT!!! Stuff like that made it just seem like a bad comedy with explosions to me. I think the people who actually loved it were either very young males who loved the eye candy and the action/explosions or grew up on the transformers show as kids and enjoy it because they used to enjoy the show.
