Saw it last night. After hearing all the complaints of "too much action", "movie is too long" and "too many robot fight scenes," I knew going in that I would think it's great. Wasn't disappointed in the slightest. And apparently everyone else in the theater thought it was great too cause as soon as it was over the entire theater broke out in cheers.

Next post = "prolly cheering that it was finally over!"

Movie was badass. Better than the first, but I actually liked the first too.

Twins weren't nearly as bad as people made them out to be, plenty of laughs there.

I don't think Devastator is dead, probably just blown apart. Would have liked more build-up to him, even Megatron giving them orders in an old-school cartoon way, but I thought the twins vs. him scene was pretty good.

Megatron vs. Starscream was definitely classic though.. and the jumping flip shooting from Optimus is straight out of the original animated movie, nice touch there.

If you liked the first one at all you will enjoy this one, probably more.

Ok, i need one thing seriously explained to me. Either I was too engrossed in things, and my brain was fried, but I swear there was one huge continuity error.

I swear, there were numerous scenes with the constructicons in their individual forms while devastator was climbing the pyramid? Any number of scenes with them fighting in the ruins trying to stop Sam while the pyramid is being smushed.

Did anyone else catch this?

Failing to see the issue here!

But in all honesty not many people here are defending this movie for its cinematical expertise or riveting plotline.

It's a damn Michael Bay flick. With robots that fight one another with technologically advanced weaponry. Did you REALLY expect something else? A lot of your blasts on the movie are so heated but I wonder if you understand that, at least in my case, people went to this movie to be entertained for 3 hours on a weekend night. I could have blown 10 bucks on a couple of beers at the bar but last night I wanted to see some shit blow up.

Now what I do understand is the criticism towards the accuracy and presentation of the Transformers as a whole. When I was a kid I was obsessed with the toys and the movie, so naturally I would have preferred the movie to go a different way.

Hell, take the humans out (except for Fox, she can say) and give someone other than Optimus/Megatron some dialogue and screen time. I was jazzed at the beginning when Sideswipe was introduced but then you never really see him again, let alone speak.

I posted it a couple pages ago, but this is the case. There were multiple versions of the same constructicon with a different paint job all over the film. As well as the generic Grey decepticons that dropped in at the end. It seems Michael Bay just wanted the final battle to be more "epic" and added a ton of random decepticon fodder in the form of reskinned Constructicons + the Greys.

I really had no idea what was going on in half the battle sequences. Maybe IMAX was just too damn big to allow for Bay's insane close-up action. All I know is that for large chunks of the movie when I was supposed to be impressed by the robots battling all I saw was fast moving metal of some kind. As a result I had about as much emotional investment as I would if I saw an electric mixer attacking an egg whisk.

I find Imax to be rough with fast action and lots of movement. I always feel like I miss stuff.

Saw this movie tonight. It kicked ass. It was 100% what I wanted in the Transformers sequel. There was enough plot to hold the story together, some back story, kick ass special effects, and solid fight scenes.

Not only is it a good film, it's a good Michael Bay film. Perhaps I just have low expectations, but I wasn't disappointed in the slightest.

This movie kicked ass...

...for all the swirly cocksucking "movie conasuers"... fuck you...

I love how these critiques bash Bay and his movies. The movie was fucking awesome and I will go see again.

My only two complaints was first: Star Scream being a total fucking pussy. I think he looked bad ass. The reason he changed the paint scheme was because Megatron orded the decepticons to no longer hide. Being at Tyndall, I would love to see some of our Raptors with that paint job it was fucking awesome.

Star Scream is an ass kicker... He should have kicked more ass and less running around like a pussy. His dialoge could have been more decietful.

Secondly, the Fallen needed to be more bad ass. He kind of got "Darth Mauled". Total bad ass, when out like a chump.

Sound Wave was fucking incredible. Absolutely awesome. Glad he is going to be around. There was an MH-53 but it isn't Blackout, that was a bummer. The decepticons do not kick as much ass I would have liked, but overall this movie was awesome.

Some people seem to make the shit in their childhood a hell of a lot better than it was.

Hopefully in part three Star Scream, Ramjet, Thunderclap, the Insecticons and Predicons make an appearence as well as the Dinobots and Aerialbots. I don't know.. I want to see the decipticons kick some ass.

Bumblebee was pure win in this movie. Ironhide had the first autobot line and then went quiet.

Overall, 8 out of 10 stars.

Fuck the haters, it was a damn good show. Hope Bay tells the critiques where to go...

I also loved how the Obama Administration basically tries to sell out freedom instead of fighting... Typical liberal pussy FtW! That alone should give Bay an Oscar.

Just got back from seeing this. This movie was badass.
Lots of action, ass whoopin'. Prime was awesome with his face ripping bad assery.

Good thing I prefer finding out if a movie is terrible or not on my own. Cuz the majority of the "critics" on these boards are on par with Rotten Tomatoes. 100% shit.

Movie was awesome. Will see again, and buy on Blu-Ray.

Can anyone explaine to me:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
why that old robot guy (who gave optimus his parts in the end) was hiding as an advance blackbird jet? When they explained that they needed to consult old school transformers I thought they would look for an old plane or an old car.

Also, why was that old robot dude in-animate till they touched it with the shard from the all-spark? Wasn't he supposed to already be an existing transformer?

I haven't read the prequel comics, so I may be wrong.. but when Simmons shows them the pictures of the Seekers, they see a very old plane, and they know it's at the Smithonian. Getting there, they use Simmons' radiation detector to find out which one the Seeker decided to turn into to remain undetected. I'm sure over the years, the Seeker would scan and turn into a new plane / rocket for a change. Who knows, maybe that old plane was taken out of the museum once for an outside exhibition and Jetfire decided to turn into the Blackbird instead to stay at that location.
