I just have to say the 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime that came out a couple years ago is by far the best Transformers toy that's ever been released. He's over a foot tall, metal, and even has rubber tires. If anyone has any interest in Transformers toys and 70 bucks to spare, I'd buy him. I actually have one myself.

Theyve made a Masterpiece Ultra Magnus, Megatron, Starscream, Skywarp and soon to be Thundercracker all like the 20th anniversary Optimus. They even made a trailer for Optimus for his truck mode.

In reply to the Transformers Animated series, while the toys may look bad the series and general tone of the storyline for the show is really great. Megatron is genuinely evil and more like a criminal mastermind than the megalomaniac Megatron was in the original. This Megatron actually thinks about the long term and not the short term. Its a really great series imho. Though it does lack in some episodes like all series tend to do.

If you are talking about the same thing that I am thinking of, the ones you listed are not the same quality as the 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime. I have a recently released G1 Starscream that is roughly the same size and is as detailed as the Optimus Prime but the quality is not the same as the Optimus Prime. Basically the Starcream is still plastic unlike Optimus but I will admit the detail on it is everything I could have asked for.

As for Transformers Animated, I may actually give it chance, just the Transformer designs really turned me off.

Spielberg is still executive producer, so it should be worth watching until the Special Edition, when the autobots and decepticons are throwing walkie talkies at each other.

Jason X was a great comedy movie, the ultimate popcorn flick that you snuck in for free to see. Anyways, we all know that Michael Bay sucks horribly at the introduction and origin part of a film, so maybe a sequel where they can skip all of that part and go right into the action will be more up his alley.

Btw: Michael Bay
1) A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010) (pre-production) (producer)
2) The Birds (2009) (pre-production) (producer)
3) Friday the 13th (2009) (post-production) (producer)

So, it sounds to me like they're going the Original Star Wars Trilogy route, maybe?

First one, some kids (with the help of a couple robots) take on the evil bad guys.

Second one, bad guys get their revenge.

Third one, we get robots that transform into three foot tall bears???

It looks to me like Robert Englund won't be Freddy.
Why....WHY would you remake this movie? The only plausible explanation is that there are ZERO ideas out there. Nobody in Hollywood can come up with any new story? F-that.

new ideas are out there but no studio wants to waste millions of dollars on them cuz its an unknown entity and are afraid it will fail. these guys are still reeling from dropoff due to DVDs, DVD quality bootlegs and people just not going to the movies like they used to anymore. Its much easier to make something that they already know there is an audience for and can bank on a moderate to exceptional profit from it. IMO creativity moved from movies to television. im much more excited about seeing the next season of Lost or tonight's finale of Dr Who than i am for any movie due to come out this year.
