no one wanted to watch Optimus and Megatron discuss for 2 hours Sun Tzu's Art of War, but it's not a coincidence if both Transformers and Armageddon are a michael bay movies

they share the same basic characteristics:

-lot of retard characters you dont give a shit about
-american pie level jokes in almost every scene
-patrioctism (sp?) spam all over the movie
-scenes way beyond any possible suspention of disbelief

the fact they have chosen to make transformers like that shows they didnt give a shit about it as movie, but it was just a cheque to bank

sorry if i pretend some kind of efford even from the troupe of an action movie, since i pay to watch it

Wow, the Bay/Transformers seething is epic lol material. The cartoon I remember from my youth was robots beating on each other and I recall doing that to a decent extent. This one looks like its amped up the robots and the shit getting blown up. If you want an example of fine cinema go see The Reader, otherwise shut the fuck up.

P.S. Yes, I'm also a big Transformers fan. Enough so that I tattooed the emblems on my flesh and I still quite enjoyed what he did with the series.

Lol I would love to see a movie that held true to the cartoon. I remember them running around taking and blowing up everything and no military action really being made. I am sure that movie would do great.

We all know Michael Bay is incapable of making a quality film, but the action scenes in Transformers were pretty bad ass. Granted, the 2nd and 3rd time I watched the movie I wasn't so enthralled by the action and I nearly threw up from the cheese-factor, but he isn't bad at making good action scenes. I'm just hoping the sequel offs Shia with monowheel there skinning his face off with the tire in the first 5 seconds, and that no one says "bring the rain," and I'll be happy. Ironically, the more action there is, the better it will be, because any attempt at dialogue by Michael Bay is an automatic train wreck.

That is from Yahoo or something, right? Check out Wikipedia for the actual list straight from the internet nerd Transformer fans and not the Transformers advertising people.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Autobots

* Peter Cullen voices Autobot leader Optimus Prime. He retains his alternate mode of a blue Peterbilt truck with red flame decals. Cullen recorded a voiceover for the opening scene in August 2008, but began the majority of voice work in November.[65][66] A live action cameo has been written for Cullen.[67]

* Mark Ryan voices Bumblebee, the Autobot who befriended Sam and disguises himself as his fifth-generation Chevrolet Camaro. Ryan also continued his role as stand-in for the robots on set.[68] The filmmakers used the Super Sport version of the 2010 Camaro rather than the concept version.[69] Ed Welburn, vice president of GM Global Design, said the redesigned car emphasized Bumblebee as becoming stronger after having his severed legs reattached in the first film: the new intakes and spoilers show he is a sturdier character.[47]

* Jess Harnell voices Ironhide, the Autobot weapons specialist who transforms into a GMC Topkick.[70]

* Robert Foxworth voices Ratchet, the Autobot medic who transforms into a search and rescue Hummer H2.[70]

* John Turturro voices Jetfire,[4] a former Decepticon who transforms into a SR-71 Blackbird. His wounds and age have made him choose to become an Autobot.[1] He can combine with Optimus, an idea previously seen in the Transformers: Armada series.[71] The writers wanted a geriatric robot, and during scripting they gave Jetfire that personality.[72] Turturro offered to voice the character because he thought it would be a fun part.[73]

* The sisters, three Autobots with feminine appearances and personalities. Whether to explain robotic gender or not was something the writers were unsure about, and it remained undecided until post-production.[16]
o Arcee, a pink motorcycle.[60] Arcee was dropped from the first film as the writers felt there was not enough time to explain her "gender", although she and several other female Transformers appeared in the first film's toy line and tie-in comics. She becomes Mikaela's companion.[74]
o Chromia, a blue motorcycle. She is Ironhide's girlfriend.[75]
o A purple motorcycle.[60]

* Mudflap and Skids, respectively a red Chevrolet Trax and green Chevrolet Beat.[69] Mudflap is very hyperactive, while Skids believes himself to be the smarter of the two and tries to come across as mature, but nevertheless appears unable to keep quiet.[76] Bay chose the Beat and Trax for the Autobot twins because he thought those two small cars looked good together.[77] Ed Welburn added when they had designed the cars before Bay selected them, the "character" they wanted to bring to the concepts was a sense that small cars could be as cool as large ones.[47] The Twins start the film by combining into an ice cream van.[6]

* Sideswipe, a silver Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Concept.[69]

* Jolt, a blue Chevrolet Volt.[69] Jolt was a last-minute addition to the cast as General Motors, the film's car supplier, wanted to promote the Volt.[78] The writers had already wanted to include the car in the script before the Writers Guild strike, so they had to work out a character that would fit well within the Autobot team afterwards and convince Bay to approve the addition.[79] Welburn was pleased the Volt's character was christened Jolt by the filmmakers, as it reflected that car's design "character".[47]

* Wheelie, a small radio-controlled monster truck. Wheelie initially serves the Decepticons because he is frightened of them.[80]

[edit] Decepticons

* Hugo Weaving voices Megatron, the Decepticon leader.[81] Killed and thrown into the Laurentian Abyss in the first film, he is resurrected by his legions with cannibalized parts as a Cybertronian tank. He has become stronger as a result of absorbing the Allspark fragments that originally killed him.[82] When reviving the character, the writers chose not to rename him Galvatron so as to not confuse the general audience.[83]

* Charlie Adler voices Starscream,[70] the air commander who transforms into an F-22 Raptor. He flew into space at the end of the previous film, and now returns bearing Cybertronian symbols on his body and commanding a new Decepticon army.[84] Orci confirmed he will have more dialogue.[20] Chris Mowry, writer of the comic book prequels, stated Starscream differs from his 1980s incarnation because "His motivations are more for the species. He's definitely at odds with what Prime and Megatron have been doing. He thinks that they’ve both been consumed with greed, for their own selfish reasons, but as he finds out, his plans start to fall through as he’s kind of becoming overwhelmed with the same greed that they had."[85] However, Orci explained that during post-production, dialogue additions edged Starscream closer towards his 1980s counterpart.[86]

* Soundwave, Megatron's communications expert and his most loyal soldier. Bay expressed interest in getting Frank Welker, Soundwave's original voice actor, to portray the film version.[87] He transforms into a Cybertronian craft with jet and satellite capabilities.[84] The concept artists also designed an Earth form of a Chevrolet Silverado for him to upgrade into, which Orci stated was dropped.[88] In the 1980s toyline, Soundwave's alternate mode was a microcassette player. The filmmakers had tried to work him into the first film twice, and these roles eventually evolved into Blackout (a MH-53 Pave Low helicopter) and Frenzy (who changed into a CD Player and later into a mobile phone). The latter character was particularly thought to be too different from the original.[89][90]
o Ravage, a minion that resembles a large one-eyed cat.[74]
o A robot resembling resembling Frenzy, but with a cat like face, dreadlocks, and a bird-like beak.[91]

* The Fallen. One of the original thirteen Transformers, the robot known as the Fallen is the one who corrupted Megatron into forming the Decepticons. He is trapped in another dimension and was able to communicate with the Decepticon via an interdimensional window, the distorted effect of which inspired the image the Decepticons use as their insignia.[92] Lorenzo di Bonaventura compared the Fallen to Judas Iscariot.[93] He transforms into a Cybertronian aircraft.[94] The writers selected the Fallen after looking through various cartoons and comics for new characters, because he was the most "elemental" villain.[16] Orci and Kurtzman approached Leonard Nimoy, who they had collaborated on Star Trek with, about voicing the part; Nimoy voiced Galvatron in 1986's The Transformers: The Movie and is also married to Bay's aunt Susan. Orci said Welker might take on the role due to "fan outcry".[83]

* The Constructicons / Devastator, a 100 to 120 feet tall warrior formed by several combining construction vehicles.[93] The name Devastator was mistakenly given to Brawl, a tank, in the first film. The name Bonecrusher, who was one of the Constructicons in the 1980s and Transformers: Universe, was also used for a Decepticon killed in the first film. The original Constructicon names Scrapper and Mixmaster appeared as drone units in the Transformers movie video game.
o Demolishor,[84] the Terex O&K RH 400 Hydraulic Mining Excavator seen in the first trailer.[95] He forms Devastator's torso.[96] He is the protector of a small Decepticon community in Shanghai.[97] The character has also been referred to as Scavenger, even in interviews that mention Demolishor.[98][74] The writers simply called him "Wheelbot".[16]
o Hightower,[98] transforms into a yellow Kobelco CK2500 Crawler Crane and forms the left arm.[96]
o Long Haul,[98] a green Caterpillar 773B dump truck, which forms the right leg.[96] Long Haul's individual robot mode was designed by freelance artist Josh Nizzi as fan art of the original character. The fan art impressed Bay enough to hire him on to the film.[99]
o Mixmaster,[98] who transforms into a black and silver Mack concrete mixer. He forms the head.[96]
o Rampage,[98] a Caterpillar D9 bulldozer who forms the left leg.[96]
o Scrapper,[84] a Caterpillar 992G scoop loader who forms the right arm.[96]
o Overload.[74]

* Barricade, a Saleen S281 police car.[62] Jess Harnell voiced him in the first film.

* Scorponok, Blackout's former partner who resembles a car-sized mechanical scorpion. In the first film he burrowed into the ground after being defeated by the military in Qatar, and lost part of his tail. His tail is restored in the film.[60]

* Sideways, an Audi R8.[60]

* Scalpel, also known as the Doctor to his fellow Decepticons, a small, spider-like robot who pins down Sam in one scene in the film. He turns into a microscope and is installed with various torture instruments.[74][100]

* Isabel Lucas plays Alice, a Pretender who stalks Sam.[21]

Has a work print of this movie been released yet?
