Maybe it's because I'm Australian, but i generally find Westerns to be fucking boring. The Good, the Bad, and The Ugly was ok, but i just didn't 'get it'.
I'm yet to see unforgiven which i am told was really, really good.

Also, as someone else said, "Big"? C'mon, fucking "Look who's talking now" was better.

As much as I love Tombstone and Unforgiven, probably two of my favorite movies, the problem is they just don't have the legacy the old westerns and actors retain.

John Wayne, Jimmy Stewart, Dean Martin, Clint Eastwood, etc. really did some great work, in some great stories, that have lasted far beyond the tests of time.

I'm really suprised that Rio Bravo, Mclintok, El Dorado, The Sons of Katie Elder aren't on anyone's list.

You got to love a good western though... they can be comedic, romantic, whatever. It's a shame we just don't have actors like then as well.

The fantasy list is mostly lame with the exception of Fellowship of the Rings at #2, an excellent choice. I especially like how the gay sequels are nowhere to be seen.

Shawshank Redemption isn't even in the Top 100. That pretty much says it all if you ask me.

As for Titanic. Love stories may not be my cup of tea but objectively I have to admit that Titanic is an extrodinarily well made movie that does an excellent job of telling the story it sets out to tell. If I was to put together my own list of the best movies of all time (which is not necessarily my list of my favorite movies of all time) I have a hard time seeing Titanic being outside the top 10.

Looks to me like they just put anything they could think of on there. Moulin Rouge, way ahead of Aliens...ya ok. Clueless is on the list, lol.

One thing about that list makes me kinda smile though...

Private Ryan lost to that fucking piece of shit Shakespeare in Love at the Academy Awards, yet no one cares about that movie anymore (or hell, even remembers it) and Private Ryan gets all the <3

Spielberg got robbed that year.

Even if their list is flawed, it was still nice to see some flicks get nods, like Groundhog Day.

Well, it's their list so I guess they can do what they want, but how do you lump "The Lord of the Rings trilogy" as #2? I know they're all linked, but they're still three separate movies....Especially if you're going to list Back to the Future 1 at 91 and The Bourne Supremacy at 29.

Either group them or don't.
