Haha, was Gigli one of the other picks or what?

Oh sure, now Jeff Bridges and Joaquin Pheonix are overrated actors as well.

Well, they sure as hell weren't going to let Gladiator get that many awards. Not artsy enough. He had some awesome scenes in that movie for sure, but also a few that were downright awkward.

I didn't see The Contender. I like Jeff Bridges though.

Of course, the only thing I remember about traffic was wondering wtf the big deal was. I didn't exactly commit the film to memory - that or it simply wasn't memorable, ha!

And wtf do you care so much anyway? Are you president of his goddamn fan club? Jesus you dorks will argue about anything.

Billy Bob is definitely awesome. I'm surprised he hasn't been mentioned yet.

Fuck whoever said Dana Carvey isn't funny, he's hilarious. Even his 'Master of Disguise' movie was pretty good. His imitation of Robert Shaw a la Jaws was spot on.

I threw up a little when reading this. Master of Disguise is the ONLY movie I turned off half way through ever. Even shitty movies like Blade Trinity I watched in completion for it had at least 1 redeeming quality. I almost turned it off when Triple H waited until he got out of the van up the elevator into a meeting room sat down in the chair and then pulled the arrow out of his eye. That kinda of stuff just really annoys me.

The man was funny but all his does now is fairly shitty impressions of people that no one cares about anymore. Needs to update his act like Frank Caliendo.

Dana Carvey is a hack, but Ryan Reynolds made Trinity worth watching.

Underrated: Michael Richards -- typecasted and without any real roles since. Must have done a large amount of body training / voice work to prepare for his role on seinfield.

Underrated: "Sopranos" -- Michael Imperioli, Edie Falco -- Performances consistently believable, all the time. Probably not so much underrated, but both lost the award during the final season to sup-par actors.

Underrated: shia labeouf - His range and comedy is criticized, when he opens up to different roles and matures further I would wager he'll be one of the best actors of our time.

Overrated: Jennifer Garner -- More of a personal gripe really. Don't like her mannerisms and her 'looking into nothing' phase. Too common.

Overrated: 'Lost' -- Jorge Garcia, Elizabeth Mitchell -- Could be replaced by anyone. Garcia's 'fake cry' is absolutely painful to watch and often strips any immersion that's going on. Elizabeth just seems like a casting option.

I still enjoy quite a few of their movies but I never forget its either of them when they are on screen. They never disappear and become the character.
Cruise played a damn good role in Magnolia and that was no typical Cruise role. I don't like about half the shit he does anymore, hated and I mean hated minority report. Such a trite piece of shit movie that was.

Now on the other hand, Collateral was by far his best work imo. And with the mention of that, what about Jamie Foxx as underrated since all the actors we're listing as "underrated" really aren't imo...

Michael Chiklis from the shield, that's an incredible actor. His part in Fantastic 4 blows goats but his performance in the Shield is nothing short of PHENOMENAL.

I think it's damn hard to pick a truly underrated actor because they all seem to get their shot to prove they never were underrated or they're already big time actors.

The over rated actors... some of Cage's less known works are some of his best imo. He just gets these 1 dimensional characters in blockbusters that he's become known for that seem to define him these days.

I'd say nearly the entire cast of Oz was underrated...

Cuba Gooding Jr is one of my favorite actors of all time too. Men of Honor was incredible, he's had some other good roles but he's played a range of characters from Radio to a bad cop etc.

I agree w/ some of the posters above on Don Cheadle. He has truly become a character defining actor in some of his movies. He's the type of actor that can turn a barely watchable movie into something enjoyable.

Jamie Fox underrated? What was that small movie he played in that won him some award? I think it was about a blind pianist...don't think anyone really watching it though

Everyone gives Tom Cruise shit for playing the same role in every movie so I cant see how he is overrated, hell the guy hasnt even got an Oscar and has been screwed over alot. Yet all this shit is said about him and he makes great movies like Magnolia, Interview with the vampire, Vanilla Sky, Born on the Forth of July, The last Samurai ect...

He gets my vot for underrated in terms of respect.
