Ya, but Chronicles of Riddick made more sense/had a better villain with a clearer goal.

I have no idea what I just watched. Seriously, I can't figure out basically anyone's motives for... anything.

Did the asian mom know what was going down?
Why was the dad trying to create computer babies?
The religious chick... just what the fuck was that ENTIRE thing about?
Who the hell bombed the train station in the beginning?
Why didn't the dad go with everyone else to find his daughter?

What was the point of asking the dad where the hell superchick was when they managed to MAGICALLY FIND THEM in the end anyway?

And christ, that final chase scene was horrible. VD is just punching open windows and shit and the drivers do what? Absolutely nothing.... they don't even fucking shoot at him. gdfsgjfdgj, god so angry.

Ya, it sucked.

Supposedly there was alot of finger pointing and heavy editing that occurred as well.

heh i enjoyed it, but it seemed to completely lack an ending or resolution.

On the plus side, the russian parts felt JUST like Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl which was freaking awesome.

It could have been excellent with a couple of modifications

1. Remove the religious aspect, it's a stupid addition to the movie. Explain her in another way (alien, genetic freak, whatever).
2. Make the fight scenes much more clear and no shaking camera. I wanted to see the girl/Yeoh destroy some faces.
3. Remove the father figure, he was ridiculous. Add some other antagonist.
4. Explain some shit.

All in all, I really enjoyed this movie and it was worth the money I paid to see it.
I don't think this movie deserves its 7% score on rotten tomatoes myself. It was more like a 30% to 40% movie. The latest Mummy movie is a 7% percent movie as an example.

I went into it thinking of a cross between Children of Men and Cyborg myself. But it really does have major issues and I am guessing that some of these issues might of been resolved by better choices when editing.

RT's rating system doesn't work like that (AFAIK)... it's just the % of thumbs up versus thumbs down. I see what you're trying to say though, but honestly... does it really fucking matter when the movie hits the sub 30/40% range?

I honestly don't even think if the director got his way that they could of salvaged this.

Yeah, its pretty dismal really considering the amount of professionals and money they would of spent on this from cradle to screen.

P.S I should say I agree with most posters here, don't pay to see it.

If it was some backyard project put together on a shoe-string budget I would cut it more slack.

Thank you FoH. My girlfriend wanted to see this. I referenced this thread. I convinced her to take a turn toward Eagle Eye instead.

Thank. Fucking. God.
