| I enjoy Bill Maher, but to use a really cheesy pun, I have to wonder how much preaching to the choir he's doing here. You have to figure that 99.99% of the people who actually see this movie will be atheists or agnostics looking for some entertainment. It doesn't look like the kind of movie that's going to reach the right crowds to challenge the right minds. It's just going to be dismissed offhand, if it's even shown at all, in the Bible Belt. That said, I'm sure it'll be good for a chuckle or two. I really hope they show some speaking-in-tongues scenes from those loony churches that do that kind of stuff. |

| I really don't care if religious people don't see the movie... Most of them won't be influenced by a movie anyways. I just want to see this movie for entertainment reasons. And I want want to see what they did with the Golden Compass, but it will probably be X 10 with this movie. |

| I'm in it for the funny. I could care less about it being influential. I think those making the pic are smart enough to know they won't be making any anti-religious progress. Just making the film had to drive that point home. |

| Plug Life! | I've been waiting for this movie for a long time. Bill Maher talked about doing this film awhile ago and I've been waiting for it ever since. Clip does'nt dissappoint. I do agree that the right kind of people are'nt going to see this movie, either for lack of it being near them or their to stuck in their religious ways and think anyone who does'nt bow to God is going to hell and dont want to waste their time on it,but who cares? I want to see it for the entertainment value, espically if theres evangelical shit, those people are fucking nuts. On a side note I see this being protested outside of movie theaters with people holding signs that say "God loves you, reject Bill Maher and his atheist movie". | The argument I always like to throw out is three points thats cant be reconciled: 1) God is omnipotent, he is 100% all powerful and capable of doing anything. 2) God is good, he is the image of pure benevolence and everything that is good. 3) There is evil in the world. You just cant reconcile all 3 of those statements logically, so bring on the protesters for this movie hehe. |

| Considering the movie has had its release date pushed back twice already, I'm sort of beginning to wonder if it'll see the light of day anywhere, unless on direct-to-DVD. I also sort of have to wonder how this will affect Maher's HBO show. If this has a huge backlash, I'd think he'd have a difficult time getting any politicians to go on his show. |

Just takes reading enough to realize that God's power operates on laws that get taught throughout the Bible - God took several thousand years and required the help of man (Abraham especially) to be able to undo Adam's mistake. Once reaching that level of understanding, one can just laugh at the whole "Can God make a wall so strong that he can't break?" arguments. Once God gave the earth to Adam, and Adam pissed it away, the Earth was no longer God's anymore to just "remove all the evil" out of it. Thus, there is nothing that needs reconciled in your statement.

I suppose it depends on how the format goes, because he seems to be talking to different types of people rather than going to people who basically agree with him to talk about the God delusion. I'll watch it because I watch Real Time, I am an atheist, however, I don't particularly care for how he expresses his anti religion views. He basically sweeps anyone religious into the "fucking idiot" category and invalidates them, and I find that equally offensive as the religious extremists who want to tell me my soul is condemned for not believing in God, or tell me I'm stupid for not believing in something. Either way, I expect if nothing else there will be a few laughs.
