Lost Boys (2) The Tribe

Guy at work mentioned this, surprised it's not been mentioned yet as the original was/is such an 80's classic. The Frog brothers are back, heh.

Lost Boys: The Tribe (2008) (V)

Lookin forward to it myself if just for the campy nostalgia.

This has all kinds of potential for failure.

Sigh. I really wish Hollywood would stop raping great movies of the past with terrible and unnecessary remakes and sequels. They're already burning through what was once one of the great untapped sources of movie material (comics) and will likely do the same with video games within the next 1-2 decades, yet they're still forced to pull out this shit. Wtf are they going to do when they've tapped that out? Back to the future 4: The shakes?

I'm sure they would recruit Paul Greengrass to direct Back to the Future 4 if it happened. Although the sets did suffer fire damage a couple weeks ago.

Most video game movies are cheesy B flicks at best imo, rape those all you want cuz I don't see anyone really liking them but fanbois anyway. There may be the rare gem but I don't see how video game movies can even be uttered in the same sentence as comic book movies. I'm no fanboi of those either and they've certainly butchered their share of those also.

Well, movies based on comics were no different in the 80's and 90's. Super Mario Bros movie anyone? Now they're actually putting out quality films based on comics/graphic novels. I think that when Hollywood comes to rely on games for their ideas the quality will pick up.

Batman 1-2 and the first two superman movies were a bit above super mario brothers level of cinema.

Super Mario Bros tried to be a real movie with familiar elements rather than a video game movie.

It failed on all fronts.

Yeah, for some reason I got turned around and was thinking of video game movies instead of comic book movies. Only really bad comic book movies of the 80's and 90's that I can think of were Elektra, the old Punisher, Daredevil, and Catwoman. It's been pretty even overall.

Lost Boys is still one of the best vampire movies to date...even if it did have the feldmans and lines that involved warp speed. Still this movie will be straight to DvD.
