+6 Internets | G.I. Joe - Live Action I thought we had a thread about this but of course the search function accomplished nothing for me. Agbaje & Taghmaoui Join "G.I. Joe" (December 20th 2007) I enjoyed The Mummy, The Mummy Returns, and Van Helsing and would enjoy a G.I. Joe movie along the same grain. It would feel like the old cartoons use too. Having Eko as Heavy Duty is a great fit. Sienna Miller is attached as well, but I couldn't find who she was set to play. Nothing will ever live up to the cartoon, but hopefully it'll still be a fun action movie.

Do they really need to make a GI Joe movie 25 years after the cartoon and action figures were a hit? Really? And if they make said movie, do they really have to smack us in the face and change GI Joe from being American soldiers to some International Terrorist organization? Really? Because I always said that if the GI Joe franchise needs anything, it needs more reality injected into a world where soldiers wear super hero costume versions of army fatigues to battle an enemy who loves their snake motif so much they have to name everything after snakes and have a leader who draws all of his "S's" out to be hisses.  |

| So I hear Larry Hama is signed on to consult. I am reading that the script has done a complete 180. Nevertheless, GI.JOE is, was, and shall always be "An All-American Hero". I'm not so sure about an international organization with The Pit based in Egypt and the official logo NOT showing the red, white, and blue. Fucking politics and money...sigh.

| you know, i loved transformers and other cartoons, but GI joe always seemed so gay to me, even as a little kid. OMG THEY ARE GOING TO SHOOT NEAR EACH OTHER AGAIN HOLY SHIT SOMEONE MIGHT DIE... oh wait nevermind. I know transformers was similar but at least those were robots and it almost made sense in a weird way. The animated movie was pretty cool though, since there was some actual violence. Same thing for transformers... Half the autobots dying within like the first 30 mins. I swear seeing that as a little kid I think I was shocked for days. But then I watched it over and over and realized how awesome it was that they finally got some balls and showed what would ACTUALLY happen if giant robots were shooting at each other.
