"Choke" trailer (Chuck Palahniuk filmatization)

Generally speaking I'm a major Chuck Palahniuk fan. I loved "Fight Club" and "Lullaby" and I hate the fact that I haven't had time to venture into more of his works. It's everything from his style and tone, humor and irony to the content and how it's delivering. His writing just strikes me great. "Fight Club" the movie is probably my one favorite movie of all times, and a brilliant adaption by Fincher as well.

So I will of course be seeing this but I suppose I should tell myself not to get my expectations too higher. But neither have I read the book, although I heard a lot of great stuff about that one as well. Seems to me however the tone and setting is a lot different, meaning this one is a lot more ironic and humorously based than say "Fight Club" and "Lullaby" which were pretty radical and dark from times to times, even though they both follow the "same" average Joe.

Edit:Seems it's been released in the US, already? Uh, gg me!

Only at festivals. Won't be out til fall in normal theaters, and most things on Fox Searchlight are limited release at best.

I heard some good stuff at first, then read some REALLY bad reviews. Like, people who really tried to like the movie and just couldn't do it. It's the directors first movie if I recall.

I'm going to see it, I loved the book, but I doubt it's going to do it any justice.

Restricted from playing trailer outside US due to copywrites. Jesus christ I want the people who started doing that skinned alive then whipped to death with salt encrusted rusty chains.

Same. This is my favorite Palahniuk book after Fight Club, and I really really really WANT this to be awesome, and the reviews I have read are so depressing.

I mean, they got Sam fucking Rockwell to play Victor, how do you fuck that up? He is perfect.

I am guessing I will download it and see if it's any good.

Im not sure about it after watching the trailer, however i guess this is the right time to recommend "Survivor", my Palahniuk favorite.
I also saw him in a book convention here last year, and he was not only very funny but also very shockingly interesting (who would have thought?!).
He had those awesome theories regarding electric toothbrushes, but I really could not rephrase them, you will have to see him "live".

Fight Club had horrible trailers.. hell they barely even represented the concept of the film.

Who knows.. *crosses fingers*

Invisible Monsters should also be coming out sometime this year.

That trailer looked pretty faithful to the book.

From what I heard they took the ending of the book out and turned it into a romantic comedy.

Well I guess you can't count on Hollywood to end a movie with a guy's ass exploding with several week's worth of backed up feces and a butt plug.

Yea I cant imagine theyd have the butt plug and shit and everything, that tone is cert. not implied by the trailer.

It looks like they turned it into a really dark off beat misanthropic romantic comedy?
