+58 Internets | Like the Palahniuk I've read, but that trailer seemed fairly corny and flat. I fucking love Sam Rockwell too. But if I didn't know that was "Choke" (haven't read but recommended to me so many times) I doubt I'd be interested |

Assuming he is very involved with this, I don't see a problem with changing it to something that would be more acceptable for the screen, assuming chuck's dark humor is still front and center. | |

| used to cyber with Wendolyn and Hobben | I'm hoping that it'll be like the Fight Club reviews, as someone mentioned. Generally the American reviewers did a lot of h8 on the movie, but well, I think most of agree that it wasn't. Until it comes out, I guess I can make it reading through the book. I was gonna read it this winter, but I had a translated version on my native language. Having just finished Lullaby in English (or American I guess), it was so very very very very awkward reading it on Danish. (Anyone else been in this boat - having read his works in English and then trying a different language?) I read one page and left the book. Simply didn't pay Palahniuk any justice to read it on any other language than English/American, I figured. Perhaps it's just cause his style just sounds weird on my native language. But well.

+19 Internets | I can see how that would be weird. Def read the book before you see the movie. It's my favorite Palahniuk book, hands down - though I haven't read Snuff yet. I guess I just never though of the book as a rom com, I hope it's as dark/funny as the book was. |

| You are not damn right | I disagree, while the book was funny it was some pretty dark and realitic satire , the movie really just looks too light hearted to capture chuck's work I guess. Fight club did this perfectly. That trailer however looked like romantic_comedy_01 with a jim carrey physical comedy twist. No thanks. I'm hoping its awesome but the direction they took isn't going to do it justice.

+4 Internets | Palahniuk isnt all that. Fight Club was one of those rare exceptions where the film was better than the book. Who knows what they have done for Choke.

| So the red band trailer--I don't get why Fox Searchlight went to so much trouble trying to remove all trace of it from the internet. It's very R-rated but nothing special, and it fails miserably at making the movie look good/funny compared to the original trailer. Maybe that's the real reason they wanted it to disappear...

| Yes it is, it's also the same chick from No Country for Old Men who said "Llewelyn, what's in the satchel?"

+46 Internets | Yeah, but it's not actually a huge part of the book. I think they have 2 choke parts in it, 1 in flashback. Been awhile, but that sounds right. It's more just a symptom of his fucked up mental problems.
