The fact they are replacing the actress while keeping the character is usually a big warning sign, but I've always like Maria Bello, so I'll wait to see how it plays first. My guess is that Weisz didn't want to do them.

Yeah, I take the same thought you do. I'm just sad no Rachel Weisz, but at least they got a good actress to replace her.

She had issues with the script and pulled out.

How can they do this movie without Rachel Weisz? I thought she was an integral part of the series. At least, her in a nightgown kept me watching.

Never thought she was that hot to be honest (in before Sharp Knees). I liked the chick the mummy was banging more.

Looks pretty tight to me. Can live without Rachel Weisz, but of course would have liked her in it.

Generally, as someone already mentioned, I really love this kind of adventurous genre with Indiana Jones and National Treasure and hell even The Davinchi Code and Tomb Raider for that matter. While some are a lot more fictional both in terms of the supernatural but with the narrative overall, I always had a thing for these kind of stories. (Obviously Indy is the crowned king of it all. National Treasure was mediocre at its best. Tomb Raider was average, yada yada).
Mummy 1 was awesome, two was a bit disappointing but I can still watch it. Scorpion King was just... The Rock.

I think it's universally excepted that 2 was a pretty big let down in comparison to 1. I liked the Scorpion King a lot more than 2 actually (One of the rare occurrences where a spin off is held in higher regard than an original movie from a series).

I have pretty good hopes for 3, but one gripe. Why is it that every time there's heavy Asian involvement in a movie, the lead action actor has to be Chow Yun Fat or Jet Li? I mean, I'm not going to complain, I love Jet Li, it just seems like I'm seeing him and Chow in like any action movie with heavy Asian involvement.

I know, it's a pretty stupid thing to gripe about, but hey, I just think there's a ton of great action actors out there that could be used instead.

I think it's almost universally accepted that the Scorpion King sucked.

ACCEPTED, DAMNIT! Not EXCEPTED.

Man, that's the third time in two days from you.

edit: Sorry, that really irritated me for some reason.

I also liked The Scorpion King over The Mummy 2, but then again I have a horrible man-crush on The Rock.

You people are on crack. All the Mummy stuff blows hard. I'd rather see a random chick flick than any of them. Jet Li may well transform them, but he won't improve them. They'll just be sucky with some kung fu in the mix.

No Michelle Yeoh appreciation? I'm more excited to see her in it than Jet Li.

I didn't mind the second movie up until the Rock showed up on screen. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the Rock, the CGI just sucked hard.

I'm more pissed about Oded Fehr than Rachel Weisz. Though, she did look really good during the flash-back knife fight in the last movie.

Patricia Velasquez didn't look to bad either.
