I thought the first one was borderline. It was very good but the line to very bad was quite thin. They managed to pull it off but it very easily could have been horrible.

That said I see no way for a sequel to be any good. The whole draw of the first one was not knowing what the fuck was going on until the end. Having that spoiled from the beginning and just waiting for it will make this suck a fuck.

While thats a big part of what made it awesome, its not the only thing. A lack of child molesting motivational speakers, crazy teachers, and awesome music will also probably doom the sequel to suck.

The scene starting at the school bus and going all through the school (one continuous shot i believe) with the Tears for Fears song playing will always stick out in my mind when I think of Donnie Darko.

Yeah the movie is way over hyped and most people that like the film dont even understand what the film is about. They cant time travel so they send images of a fucking rabbit back in time to do absolutly jack shit. Brilliant
