Was going to post this as well. No way who could have made it a classic as Ford has done, but I don't think he would have been bad in the role.

Boreanaz wouldn't have done nearly as well as Bale. He was decent in Angel and i haven't seen anything else with him that was worth a shit.
Ya but why would he turn down the role? Im not sure of any movies he has been in but hes pretty minor league dude to be rejecting a batman gig.

TV shows are a pretty big commitment, I'm going to assume that was it, because I can't see Boreanaz turning down Batman for any other reason. Even considering how badly the franchise was doing at the time, it'd still be following in the footsteps of George Clooney, which, even if the movie sucked, is a step up for most actors.

And I really wish Jean Reno had been Agent Smith. Hugo Weaving is either a really bad actor or was just really bad in the Matrix. All of his acting was overdone. (By the way, for Keanu haters: Keanu is a minimalist, the opposite of that, which is why he worked so well as Neo. You don't want some flambouyant fuck up there as the lynchpin of a movie like that. You definitely don't want Will Smith. Will Smith = awesome in Men in Black, awful as the center of something like The Matrix).

Yep, those two are the ones that distinguish themselves the most to me. Those are like THE Ford movie (series). Star Wars 4-6 and Indy wouldn't ever be as good without good old Harrison.

Keanu worked as Neo because he had the mopey, underachiever thing going for him. Will Smith is a good actor, but he just radiates alot of confidence and that might not have worked.

Tom Sellick as Jones could have worked...like I can envision him in the role, but I agree Ford was best.

Reno would have been a good agent, but you can't beat Hugo's line pronunciations. "Misssssssssster And-er-son!"

I'll pop in here and agree that Tom Selleck could have pulled off Indy. Having seen 'High Road to China' and 'Lassiter' really helps to make that call. However, Harrison is awesome in that role so I think it would have been a win/win really

IMO Quigley Down Under proved Selleck could have pulled off Indiana Jones. Lucas has some kind of mancrush on Ford which is probably why he casted him in American Graffiti, then as Solo , it worked so well he had to have him for Indy. Im not as up to my trivia as i used to be but wasnt Harrison Ford Lucas's carpenter?

According to Wikipedia;

Quote:
He turned to acting again when George Lucas, who had hired him to build cabinets in his home, cast him in a pivotal supporting role for his film American Graffiti.

haha ya i just meant the role wasnt so demanding to make his performance exceptional. On an unrelated note. Did you know tom cruise was so threatened with brad pitts height that he refused to act unless he could wear lifts making him taller?
