| Right now the entire mutant corner of the core Marvel universe is just so fucked. I'm waiting for a major story arc to fix/unite/something them.

+8 Internets | IIRC, I'm pretty sure Storm led the X-men before Emma did (after/around the same time as cyclops). I'm pretty sure wolverine is leading them simply because he has a movie coming out/name recognition at this point.

+43 Internets | And because Cyclops is about the lamest X-Man ever... OMG lasers! There are three dozen mutants with "lasers" as a mutant power and none of them are so lame that their power has to be contained within a visor. Storm is "meh" as a character, I really think Hallie Berry ruined her in the movies so its hard to get that taste out of my mouth. Wolverine has been a fan favorite for over a decade now and its a great plot device having a loner become the leader.

...and this is a tv show that will air on NickToons starting early next year. Continuity-wise, it looks to be completely out of the comic canon, so I guess that explains why Wolverine is actually the leader, Rogue can't fly, etc.

Then there were two X-Men teams, with Cyclops as leader to one squad and Storm as leader to the other. Dunno what's happened in like, the last 15 years or so, heh.

| What Flinch said. I stopped reading comics in the mid 90's when it went totally overboard on the commercialism (Image formed with a weak, pathetic start, death of Superman publicity stunt, Spider-Man 1 with 15 different covers, X-Men 1 with 5 different covers and Claremont ending his 15 year continuity reign, death of one of the best comic publishers - Valiant, yadda yadda). Well, not completely true, as I have picked up some stuff since then - Preacher, 100 Bullets, Powers. I have no idea what Emma Frost does these days, but for a long while there she was a bad guy, with Storm taking over the reigns for a time when the 5 original X-Men left to form X-Factor, as Flinch said. Storm with her mohawk kicked ass. Then again I recall a cover in the 290's somewhere with her that kicked ass as well. Anywho, yeah, I'm rambling. I miss the "good 'ole days" I guess. /goes to grab his cane |
