Surprised no one has posted this (if it has, sorry!), but this is one of the few films I have been looking forward to this entire year. The trailers are exqusite and the actors couldn't be better, imho!

I dunno, I didn't like the book very much. It was like Harry Potter, if Harry Potter was darker and less interesting.

Its anti organized religion from what I read...I've tried to read the book 3 times now and every time I end up pushing it aside for something more interesting, which doesn't happen often...its too quick with its setting changes, but that should work much better on film.

The Catholic Church is basically the "evil empire" entity in the books. Saying more will spoil a lot of the end of the second/third books.

Thats pretty funny cuz they are marketing GC like its a sequel to the chronicles of narnia LWtW. CS lewis was a big proponent of chrsitianity.

The first book you actually don't get a sense of the anti-catholic church thing. It's not really atheist either, its more like anti-establishment, bring down the church type thing, but I don't think you ever get a sense god in some form doesn't exist.

I've been following this movie... I am very excited, as I loved all three books.

Hadn't seen anything of the daemons, was pleased to see them towards the end of the teaser.

Cannot wait for Will and the Subtle Knife...
