+23 Internets | 21 21 kevin spacey and fishburn look like they'll do a good job. Plus bosworth is good eye candy for those that care about it.

| I love the ultra dramatic spin they put on a game of poker in movies. On top of that i could watch Lex Luthor and Morpheus taking a dump for a hour and a half. It would be a good movie because I love the actors that play them so much.So I am pretty sure ill catch this flick. I don't think it is capable of surpassing this gem with the poker plot device but it looks fun. Last edited by Lowk : 11-26-2007 at 08:56 PM. |

| This looks like it is based on the book: Bringing down the House which was a true story of how these guys from MIT took the casinos for millions in blackjack. Great book btw, a must read, and probably 100x better then the move although the movie looks pretty good. The real guys got caught by a riverboat casino because they took it for a godly amount of money one night and the riverboat casino had never been beaten for that much money before and once they are caught their pictures go up in every casino in the world. But this movie looks like it has a bunch of different elements to it that were not in the book, like in this trailer it looks like Laurence Fishburn catches them in a Vegas casino. The movie looks good though, I will definitely go see this. BTW on a side note Kate Bosworth was like the hottest girl ever (#1 in my book) in the movie Blue Crush-- she had the perfect body, great smile and beautiful eyes--then after the movie she got all anorexic looking and never looked as hot. She was so skinny she looked like a toothpick and she was all boney--you could even see it in her face as her skull bones were almost visable. In Superman Returns she didn't look good at all. But I have to say in this movie 21 she looks a lot better, hopefully she is making a comeback and she started eating food again. EDIT: yea I was right this is based on the book according to wikipedia: Bringing Down the House (book) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

+10 Internets | Didn't that book turn out to be full of bullshit? Like I thought huge chunks of it ended up being fabricated. Maybe that was the second book, not sure. Either way this looks cool and yes, Kate needs to eat a sandwich.

| Movie was pretty good overall. Probably about a 3/5. I felt it was a little too drawn out in some areas, but the acting was pretty good. Would definitely like to read the book to get some more in depth storyline about some of the setup and practicing. |

I knew a little about the MIT blackjack team from a TLC special so it really looked like they jazzed up a few things for the movie to make it more dramatic. Overall it was good. I wasn't sorry I spent my money.

| I assume you mean student loans? I was thinking the same thing. Why couldnt he just take out student loans like every other student. Most med students end up $250k-ish in debt.

| The tuition aspect is simply to make the protaganist someone you empathize with. Otherwise it'd just be about a bunch of fucking greedy-ass kids, a gay pederast, and a bad ass motherfucker from the Matrix. |
