| I'm too lazy to verify this, but if it's true, and Chris Carter is behind the helm again, he'd better throw his soul into it. This is his(and the series') one and only chance for redemption long after everyone had given up on it. You don't pass up a lifetime opportunity like that.

| So I don't think I've ever seen an entire episode of X-Files front to back, but I got the impression that nothing was ever really "resolved," even on a per-episode basis. Like, even at the end of an episode it's still kinda "ooh was it really an alien??" or "oooh was it really a spirit coming back from the dead?" Is this right or is there a good story behind X-Files that would be worth watching? |

| X files is like most American sci fi shows in the 90's. They give you a scooby doo adventure with some sprinkles of the main story line thrown in to tie it all together. Think cowboy bebop or farscape. So yes there is a main plot that runs through each season and movies. The last episode of the TV show was a cliffhanger of sorts, so I'm sure they will pick it up from there. The good thing is they will probly release the complete X-files and its movie on some kind of HD format..which I can't wait for. |

| X-Files main storyline was fairly interesting and its what they directly tied into the last movie in the middle of the series. It was the stupid side-adventure crap that really put me off watching the show on a consistent basis. If they stuck to the main story and ditched half the seasons, I would have been much more satisfied. But we all know studios will milk stuff like this for every penny. ![]()

| It was the "stupid side-adventure crap" that I liked the most. The overall storyline was convoluted, stretched out, and just... boring. Except for the first episode, the X-Files started out very episodic where stories were completed in a single episode (and no, it was pretty uncommon that you were left to wonder if things were real or not). I dislike having to commit to watching a show every damn week to know what's going on (pre-tvo). Regardless, while I'm curious how this will go, I'm rather surprised Gillian Anderson would put up with Duchovny again. They aren't friends in any sense of the word, and he has little, if any, respect for her - based on a few interviews with him I've read. |
