Americans can not tell and do not care if someone is Scottish or Irish. Could you honestly pick out even half of the American accents? I have a tough time, and I'm from here.

I have low expectations for the film, but I'm being dragged to it tomorrow. I was a fan of Duchovny, but he seems to keep playing the same cynic. I'm tired of it. Obviously in The X-Files he's a believer, but the other side of the same coin isn't much of an improvement. It's about as interesting as Bruce Willis playing a badass.

PS: I hope some of the old classic x-files chars are in this movie like the Cigarette Smoking Man, X, Krycek, The Bounty Hunter, and of course The Lone Gunmen. Thes characters were all legendary TV characters imo, they made the show.
Uh...all those characters are dead. Except the Bounty Hunter(s). Yes, it's not a unique character.

ya i'll be waiting for this on DVD. Is there a tie in to the alien shit, btw? It sounds like it from some of the "hints" reviewer drops (russians and stuff) but I guess its not very meaningful?

Did cancer man die (in show or IRL), or did they just have him disappear? I never watched the last few seasons. I never really understood how they are going to end, weren't aliens supposed to invade the earth n shit...

December, 2012 is the invasion date, revealed in last episode. Supposedly the next movie deals with that.

Cancer man is dead this time. He can survive Krycek pushing him down some stairs, but a Stinger missile is a bit harder.

Just got back from seeing this. Was pretty bad. It probably would have worked as a below average "monster" type standalone TV episode, but as a feature film it failed.

Just got back seeing it too. I thought it was.. meh, ok. And, I'm a fairly large X-Files fan. It certainly wasn't anything special. Was just like drawing out one of the sub-par television shows over the course of 1.5 hours. Lots of unanswered questions.

Story overall was weak, though one thing I got out of the whole deal was

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
This will likely be the last time we see Scully and Mulder do X-Files again.

Also, I thought it was pretty weaksause that they actually used a psychic for the X-File. I mean really. This is a movie, do something more epic, please.

3.5/10

I just saw it and I thought it was kinda shitty and this is coming from a long time X-Files fan. I would give it a C-. They could have made it so much better too and it had no supporting cast except for a quick 5 min of one char. It was pretty lame, I expected much, much more.

This is the end of Mulder and Scully, they looked so old and the chemistry/magic is pretty much gone. 90% of the X-files TV shows that were like 45 minutes long were 100x better than this movie. The movie must not have been big budget either because there was no BIG effects in the movie.

Here is a spoiler in a very few words about what the movie is about:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

Religion and Stem Cell Research...that is all.

There were no aliens or any of that other good shit, the only real unexplained stuff was a psychic. And on the preview I thought someone had black oil coming out of his eyes and I was all excited for this movie, it was just blood. Back in the day this case would not have been an X-File.

DO NOT SEE THIS IN THE THEATERS, if you wanna see it wait for the DVD.

Now that you mention it burkex, I too get the feeling that

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
This movie was just one big political statement that had little to no substance.

Exactly.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
You could see that it was political when they did the George W Bush thing and showed his pic and played the xfiles music.

Plus they added a whole thing about same sex marrages in Massachusetts.

Yeah, this movie sucked ass. Should've been called CSI the movie.

Political movies are fine, but not when the stuff is just randomly thrown in then never heard of again.

Blanket CSI statement means you fail.

Was it CSI the original, New York, or the alligator edition?

Well I finally saw it, and it wasn't that bad.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I don't see that it's a political hit. We didn't even get to see success aside from cerberus. If they'd actually shown the results of their medical procedures we could draw a conclusion about the motivations of the screenwriters. Instead we just got a slice of the conflict as it related to Mulder and Scully. So they took a shot at Bush. It's a popular thing to do, and also helped reinforce the outsider image of Mulder and Scully.

I was hoping Mulder 2.0 would live and provide incentive for further films/series. They ended her for a good reason, to kick Mulder to the curb, but I was disappointed.
Overall it was just too mundane. It didn't really fit in with the X-Files with all the added human drama.

They'd have been better off reinforcing core X-Files concepts and stories. I'd say 5/10 because I was bored.
