Shit like this is the only reason I wish I still lived in ATL. I've been dying to see this movie since I first heard of it, and the DVD release isn't until (I think) April.

Yea I have been wanting to see this but sadly I don't think I will see it in the theaters as it is not showing anywhere near me. So it is on my netflix queue. Movie looks so sweet though, much better than that 40 days of night that I thought was crap.

I just got back from seeing this. 1st movie all year i felt lived up to its hype. Its awesome. Only one bad part with some shitty CG cats and it could have been trimmed a little. Perfect aside from that.

Word is its already being remade. I cant imagine then not ruining it unless they get David Gordon Green or Gus Van Sant or someone similar to direct it.

I'm glad to hear people are liking it though. I still haven't had a chance to catch it, but I hear it's up on torrent websites now.

Yeah it is being remade. I just read about it yesterday after making this thread. I really hope they don't fuck the remake up like...well almost every foreign film remake.

a great copy is floating around on the net, very damn good movie, i dunno if it was cum in my eye pussy awesome, but it was one of the better vampire movies ive seen in a long time.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
so is this a sort of remake of the dracula theme? I mean the first man that brought kills to Eli was like Renfield and now that he is dead Eli recruited a new servant in Oskar. i wonder if her last servant was Oskar's age when he was recruited and did he fall in love with her too?those CGI cats were hilarious

one nitpick, for a vampire movie they sure picked the whitest kid in the world to play a human counterpart. Eli looked more lively than that albino kid. fucking swedes! they need to import some sun over there

Well I just watched it and I have to say that it was the best vampire movie that I have ever seen. Not only was it done really well but the movie really made you think. 10/10 go see this movie.

I will spoiler my thoughts on the movie as to not spoil anything:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

First off the title of the movie was driving me crazy. I was thinking it was from a dance like the hokey pokey or something or it was just a bad mistranslation. Then as I watched it I realized that 'Let the Right One In' has to do with inviting vampires into your house, as we saw in the movie when Oscar didn't invite Eli in. When you invite the wrong person into your house (a vampire) you are dead meat.

The second thing I realized at the end was that Eli was really old. That guy that fed her who we thought was her "father" was really just a boy like Oscar who had became friends with her and then grown up over the years and had taken care of her for his entire life.

One of the things I loved in this movie was how subtle the vampire lore elements were. In one scene you can see Eli's eyes glow in the dark. She was in a tub covered with blankets, not a coffin. All the windows of her apartment were covered up with cardboard and blankets not boards or something crazy. The cats went crazy when they saw the vampires which was a great subtle thing to add. Their craving noise was fantastic and so was the makeup when they were hungry, like the darkness around their eyes. The flying and crawling up buildings was great. The whole bit about inviting Eli into Oscar's house was fantastic too. I guess what I am getting at is that 99% of vampire movies are so over the top and do all the vampire elements so much that it is linda lame, silly, and very unrealistic (even for a vampire movie). But this movie made it all very lifelike and made it work, and that is one reason why I thought it was better than any vampire movie that I had seen in the past.
