Anchorman would be average without Paul Rudd and Steve Carell.

Here is Will Ferrel's guide to films:

1. Make film
2. Profit
3. Make same film with different title
4. Profit
5. Remake same film again with another different title
6. Profit

God, when will it end? I mean fuck this "genre" of movies is just as bad as Date Movie, Meet The Spartans, Not Another Teen Movie, and all that horse shit.

Agreed. Anchorman was funny, but largely for reasons that had nothing to do with Farrel.

People hate it when a comedic actor plays the same characters and uses the same shtick over and over in films, but then they also complain when other comedic actors who employed the same techniques( Jim Carrey) stop doing it and take on Dramatic roles.

Fucked if you do, Fucked if you don't.

I loved Anchorman, I wasn't huge fan of of the Nascar one or Blades but I would much rather him continue to do comedy than aspiring to pull a Carrey.

PS. My favorite Will Farrel role was as the German in The Producers , it was fucking hilarious.

I really loved it. There were certain parts of it that were just piss your pants funny. Will Arnette as an announcer is just fantastic. Oddly enough Will Farrell may have been the big name, but I felt Woody Harrelson played a much bigger role than he did. Farrell existed for the large portion of the comedy relief but he didn't really feel like a star. The movie was a solid group effort all around. I went with one other person to a matinee and all 15 people were pretty much laughing their asses off throughout the movie.

Also, FUCK YOU for making me sit through the Sex and the City trailer. How the fuck that got attached to this movie I'll never know, but I was angry.

Lumping Will Ferrell in with Jim Carrey is just plain wrong. Carrey is actually a pretty damn talented actor and his characters are pretty diverse. I mean Carrey actually plays his roles to suit his character and varies it whereas Ferrells films are all the exact same role.

I mean shit, I saw this trailer and thought "oooh great, another Will Ferrell Movie!" But alas, he's somehow nowhere to be seen (though he'll probably make a cameo.

Hahahaha, that movie trailer was hilarious.

And stop hating on Ferrell. If I see him do any other role than comedic, I'm going to punt someone.

I love Will's movies personally. I am easily amused, though, and know that when I goto his movies I'll laugh at least once. His new movie looks even more hilarious.

I didn't like the "Love Guru" trailer. It is recycling a lot of his jokes from the Austin Powers movies; most glaringly the parallel between the shrimp and midget slips and the mole jokes of "Goldmember." Not that Mike Myers has never been guilty of stooping, but this looks seriously bad.

I saw it tonight, it was pretty funny for what it was. I wasn't going in looking for a master piece but it was definitely worth the price of admission.

Bear Wrestlin' ftw.

Great quote Saw the movie tonight with a friend, and was pretty entertaining.

I like Will Farrell and his style of comedy, but it is getting formulaic and repetitive. Not as many comedic spots with the rest of the cast on this one, either.

Will Arnett (Gob) did a good job as one of the announcers for the Tropics. Very positive and somewhat non-comedic performances by Woody Harrelson and Andre 3000 that added a little more weight to the film.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
A little disappointed they didn't use Andy Richter more.

Me either. I hate it especially due to how good Austin Powers 1 & 2 were, as well as So I Married An Axe Murderer. Trailer felt very strained and contrived. Ugh.

What Caused Semi-Pro To Tank At Box Office? | The Movie Blog

Was expected to make $27 million, did about half. I guess people are sick of the Will Ferrell schtick? PS - Apologies if the link sucks, I can't actually open it from work (blocked), but it looks like the right info from Google.

Movies are too expensive imo which definitely effects anything other than box office smash hits. I mean shit, between a soda and a ticket it's like 13 fucking bucks. That's outrageous. Sneaking in soda ftw.

The Titanic quote was phenomenal but I think my favorite part was easily the commercial break brawl.
