Yeah, I watched that video, and if it hadn't been Tom Cruise, and had instead been some televangelist talking about motivating the missionaries for Christ and bringing more people into the organization, no one would bat an eye. Does anyone really give a shit about crazy religious people? It just seems so insignificant.

Actually, I think they are more nuts.

If I go picket the local baptists or lutherans I won't be followed around town, looked into, or have fliers put up around town explaining the bad things I've done.

Depends on where you picket them. Maybe not those same actions, but go to a small town in the South and picket Jesus, see what that gets you. I'd warrant it would be similar actions, perhaps even harsher, more violent.

Is there a scientologist convention going on in this thread? how you get the topic of tom cruise being a scientology nutcase on video as an excuse to bash jesus and christianity i have no idea. they are fair game sure. bash on em all you want but there is no need to carry on with that over here.

That being said, would anyone here still pay money to see a flick starring tom cruise anymore?

I wasn't trying to bash anyone with my statement, I just really don't think it's that big of a deal, and I think that people are labeling him simply because it's Scientology and not Baptist or Catholic or whatever. If you believe in religion, at all, you believe in some incredible shit, and it's just best not to throw stones.
