Local news picked this up

Hacker Group Declares War On Scientology - News Story - WSMV Nashville

Getting exciting. If people in TN can get involved, then I have faith this can work anywhere. Actually, now that I think about it, this is the bible belt and I bet the evangelicals could make for some unlikely allies. The enemy of my enemy is my friend, no? Has anyone tried calling local churches for 2/10? They'd make good fodder. If you decide to contact them looking for protest support, go for the crazier the better; church of christ is particularly good for this, they can be quite militant here in TN, dunno about other states.

As an aside, I met one a reporter for this station this friday... I see her around quite a bit, maybe we can get some coverage here..

Sorry to spam, but I remember Draz in this forum saying there was a bigger Co$ in Nashville apart from the Co$ Celebrity Centre, but upon searching mapquest, google, scientology website, and yahoo local i've been unable to locate this church. I'm sure it's because the other church goes under another name but I'm unsure as to how I can find it... Any advice on how to find it or any local people that can tell me wtf this place is? Here's looking at you, Draz.

This is a pretty clever idea: You found the card.

Basically people are printing small business cards and leaving them randomly throughout their towns (on telephone poles, windshields, restaurant tables, etc). Thought it was an interesting idea that many can get active in if they wish to.

edit: site is down temporarily as of 9PM 2/02

looks like scientologists hired their own hackers.

edit:

it's back up with a much needed facelift. when i first clicked on this link without any context in this thread (because i havent read anything but this page) i actually thought it was FOR scientology and closed it out without reading anything.

Lol yeah, definitely better.

"STOP SCIENTOLOGY", gets the point across. Kinda liked the initial intro page though with the "You found the card, are you prepared?" thing.

I've been following this since it started, but I've never seen anybody link this: Cover Story: The Thriving Cult of Greed and Power - TIME

That was the first time i've seen that article and HOLY FUCK. How did Scientology survive this(article was in 1991 btw)?

Infiltrating the fucking government? Destroying IRS documents while bullying agents? Anonymous has it right in it's statement "Knowledge is free". Because that is exactly what draws the line between a religion and a cult. It should have been completely abolished by the government in the 70's. How the hell did it get this far?

Mix religion with money and everyone not buying into it try damn hard not to have anything to do with it. Even if it needs to be eradicated from existence. Luckily the internet generation was fed far too much bullshit and have had enough. While this isn't a Boston Tea Party the project could be considered a modern equivalent. So ordinary people will decide they have to rely on themselves and do what needs to be done because the government won't.

I would really love to hear what the government and its agencies really think about this. I know we wont ever get a legit answer, but you know they gotta be rooting for the good guys.

So, according to that article, back in 1991, scientology had a current 75 lawsuits against the IRS alone.

How do you sue the most heartless, ruthless branch of the U.S. government and not go poof?
