DID I FUCKING SAY THEY DIDNT EXIST OR THEY WEREN'T REAL? I said they were ABUSED and used as a label for any fucking child that didn't conform to being a perfect learner. God damn man your reading comprehension is a failure. There is a huge difference between Rain Man type shit which is very obviously autism, and someone who is shy and has under developed social skills. Show me anywhere, where I said autism was 100% bunk? I'm saying it is the latest BLANKET term for anyone that is deemed of the "not normal" which is fucking sad. You're going to tell me that suddenly within the past 5 years millions of new children are just magically becoming autistic? Because that is fucking what is happening. Get a clue man, there are probably five wrong diagnosis for every one right one.

First of all this "rain man shit" you keep referring too is NOT common in Autistic people, it is a rare thing. Idoit Savant is the term btw, not "Rain Man Shit". It is NOT a blanket term form anyone deemed "not normal", it is a term for a person who meets six very specific symptoms. Quote:

According to the neighbor, the kid has never even learned to speak. If true, I think we can count ADD / Dyslexia and the rest of your list out. Also, the problem is that scifags don't think autism is a problem (they think it's self-inflicted). The parents are scifags. The kid appears to exhibit autism. What the fuck were YOU talking about? edit: Oh yeah, you're the "plane won't take off" guy. Lol, never mind logic with you.

| I honestly think that this disease has been grossly exaggerated by the media, the educational system, and the medical community. When you look at the symptoms of some of these children they are the same as children who received little or no stimulation as infants. Like the babies from over crowed orphanages. They both improve using the same kind of treatments. Yet the one is mentally stunted and the other has autism. I'm not saying that autism doesn't exist, it does. I just think that it's like dyslexia, ADD/HAD, and greatly over diagnosed. Especially since it's so subjective in it's diagnoses. It also gives schools' a scapegoat for not having to deal with difficult children. One of those six symptoms could be your kid likes to stack blocks. I mean wtf? What else do you do with blocks? A lot of the diagnoses revolve around subjective observation. "Before the 1980s, one in 2,500 children was diagnosed as autistic. Now the figure is closer to one in 250." There are only three possibilities, there were always about one in 250 people suffering from autism, autism is more recognized as a disease, or the disease autism is so varying and blanketing that it envelops a lot of the children outside the norm. I would be extremely hesitant to put my child on medication because he met six of the list of symptoms. (and there are many) As far as Travolta's kid goes, maybe he doesn't speak, maybe he is autistic, I seriously doubt some neighbor is expert enough to make the diagnosis. |

| You clearly don't know dick about the symptoms of autism, they are pretty easy to read now that people know more about it, and they come in combinations which do not exhibit themselves outside of autism. Hi, are you from the 1990s? Are you actually pulling the "refrigerator mother" card? You are an ignorant fuckwit. Thanks for playing. Quote:
