| So we shouldn't expect comic-based movies to be good, even though people have proved it possible, just because they're comic movies? I guess we shouldn't expect any movies to be good, even though some are, following that logic. People like this who feed the hollywood shit spewing machine money disgust me. You pay hookers to piss on you and get off on it, don't you? |

+75 Internets | I didn't like it that much. 7/10 if i were to be generous. Some of the action was outrageous wtf. All the screaming was lol. How can you make a PG13 wolverine movie? Wolverine stabbing the shit out of people and comes out with clean claws? |

+14 Internets | Didn't think it was THAT bad. If not for the stupid bullshit Weapon X stuff at the end I enjoyed the rest of the movie. I felt like it's the kind of movie that us comic fans will hate for the changes but your average 'xmen movie' fan will have a good time. |

-Wolverine was meant to be another superhero movie pumped out for the masses that enjoy stupid action. Success. I like it. -Watchmen was supposed to be 1. dark 2. intelligent 3. expensive looking. It failed on all accounts. Dislike. -The Dark Crystal was supposed to be so out of left field and retarded so as to be interesting. Success. Like -V for Vendetta was supposed to be an artistic, intelligent film that made you think. Success. Like -Crank 2 was supposed to be an over the top action flick so mind bogglingly masculine and intense that you came out of the theater with a hardon and veins popping through your newly bulging biceps. Which, with the exception of the placebo retards, failed. Badly. Dislike. I respect film makers who set out to make a specific story(IE: movie-doesn't necessarily need to have a story) and accomplished it. Whether or not the audience liked it, it made a lot of money, got an oscar or whateverthefuck doesn't matter to me. I give praise for a success, hate for failure, and I give the reasons why that result happened. Someone's going to come along and say that fulfilling a movie's intent does not make it good. This is true. However, not fulfilling a movie's intent, does indeed make it bad. I don't troll the millie houses*

| That's the first time I've ever heard someone refer to the Dark Crystal as "retarded." I would neg you, but I think that would only encourage you. Anyways, movie was passable as a Fox Turd of a super hero movie is reasonably expected to be. Multiple scenes which didn't flow well, obvious disservice to Deadpool (when do all the rights Fox has from Marvel IPs revert back to the company that doesn't make terrible movies?) and a slideshow of mutants who really shouldn't be in a movie titled "Wolverine: Origins." I hope they really don't expect that little teaser nonsense at the end with Deadpool to reel in the fans or anything close. To the people who don't follow and aren't really aware of the character, it is meaningless as he had 5 minutes of airtime before turned into a terrible amalgam of bad ideas made manifest. To the people who do follow and care about Deadpool it's like trying to put a band-aid on gaping chest wound. Nobody who cares about the character is going to trust them with another abomination unless the script is leaked intentionally and clearly shows that Fox had no actual input. Anyway, to echo previous comments, the actors themselves didn't do a bad job. I rather liked Wolverine, Deadpool and Sabertooth, and the other characters were fairly spot on as well, though as has been said Gambit could have been more cajun. Some scenes were good and some of the fights were ok, but the vast majority was pretty "meh" at best and since Deadpool is my favorite comic book character ever, I personally didn't enjoy the movie as much as someone who has no idea what the character is might. But it still does not make the movie good. Just passable for a company that has a history of fucking up comic book adaptations.

+11 Internets | Really dissapointed with the movie. Who the fuck was Will.I.am? I would have much rather had Maverick in there somewhere than whoever the hell that guy was supposed to be. Obviously Deadpool was an abomination post weapon x stuff, but what really bugged me was the way they felt the need to try and tie wolvie's past into x-men past. I did not need to see young cyclops, young emma frost or Professor X in a wolverine movie. The ordering of things really bugged me as well, as it seemed like they just randomly through shit together and didn't give any thought as to why things happened when they did. Also, why wasn't wolverine ever in Japan!? Please give me some Silver Fox instead of retarded Emma's sister. |

+3 Internets | Totally non-canon of course but its not like the X-men movies were exactly on target either. Two main problems from a pure movie-making perspective have already been mentioned, excessive sub-par CG and a blithering mishmash plot/storyboard. Good points were mainly the characters (if you take them in isolation from the plot) and the fighting / powers didn't suck too bad. 3/10 for anal-retentive I_memorized_the_name_of_Logan's_ninja_teacher fan boys 5/10 for your average comic book reader 6/10 if you know nothing of Marvel and just turned up for superhero action shennanigans. I wish I had of seen it half-price but I didn't fall asleep or walk out. |

1) Wolverine is in Japan in one of the post-credits ending. It is likely going to be in a sequel, should this movie make enough money. 2) Logan's woman, Kayla. That's Silver Fox. Her name in the credits is Kayla Silverfox and yes, she suddenly became Emma Frost's sister and no, she doesn't have the same powers as in the comic books, instead they gave her mind control. You may bawl now. | |
