+13 Internets | I will call BS on those photos. Well, maybe...these boxes appear to be labeled with a "comic series" line. The movie should contain (as has been reported) scenes of Deadpool getting his disfigured body...I'm not that familiar with the characters, so I don't know a lot about that...but I don't think he ever had blades coming out of his arms? Also, if this movie sucks, it is more than likely that producers fault who wanted it to be a kid movie or some shit. Last edited by Blumpster; 02-21-2009 at 02:41 PM.. |

| I think that collage makes it even more ambiguous, actually~ This is the shot I was talking about, I think it was in one of the teasers/trailers? Definitely not arm blades though, and he has a shirt on. Granted this would be before the maiming, but I dunno about switching to baraka blades because your face melted. Edit: I know one of the transformer toys from the movie used a different name than in the movie (Devastator/Bonecrusher I think), so it's not hard to believe the toy box may be mislabeled. Or could just be a shoop. Or all our hoops and dreams may be crushed. Who's to say? |

| I'm starting to believe that the box is mislabeled. If they weren't going to use katanas for Deadpool and they were going to change his costume, why introduce katanas as his main weapons early in the film and have a dual sheaths like Deadpool? Comparing Ryan Reynold's physic and Scott Adkins physic to the photo of the mystery man, I think the photos look more like Scott Adkins. His body has more muscle mass, is thicker, and he has huge traps, like the man in the photo (look at the picture in the bottom left corner, big traps), whereas Ryan Reynolds has less body mass and body fat. He is thinner. Granted he could have put on some mass, but I still think the pictures look more like Adkins. |

+9 Internets | That's partly true, they decided to include more scenes with Deadpool in the movie because they realized he's an extremely popular character and they are planning to make a spinoff movie based on Deadpool if this Wolverine movie is succesful enough. There's a reason why they used a well-known actor to play Deadpool (who is NOT a very well-known hero for the average movie-goer), they've had plans for him since the beginning. |

| Those are old photos btw,and those figures are labled as the Comic Series. You will not see any of that stuff in the movie, hence the way sabertooth looks etc. Not sure where to stand on the deadpool thing, but honestly with the marks on his eyes I have to imagine that figure was labeled correctly as deadpool.

| Yeah, Zeste, those say "comic series" one them. Orange band under their names. And the character designs are right out of the comics. No way would gambit ever be wearing that in a live action movie. It would look ridiculously stupid. Bald headed baraka doesn't really look like Deadpool, or the early shots of him... But I'd believe it. Early shots with red shirt=before weaponx, bald with handswords=after. Breaking the fourth wall is very iffy in movies. It can be done right. Fight club did it for example. It's alot easier to do in comics. The best way would probably to have him narrate the whole movie. So when the character just stops and looks at the screen and talks to it, its less jarring and weird. It also helps to have a certain quirkiness to the storytelling, in the first place. Which.. I don't expect this movie to have. |

| Only half related, but I've been watching a bit of Boston Public lately and they constantly break the 4th wall... like sometimes someone will say, "You don't like her, she's just a guest character etc." or "I haven't seen you yet this episode" Thought they did it well. From what I understand, breaking the 4th wall doesn't necessarily mean turning and talking straight into the camera right? Just the awareness of being in a comic/movie or whatever is included in that? I think it'd work if they have Deadpool do something subtle like that that doesn't jar the viewer completely, as a kind of shout out to the comic fans but won't alarm casual viewers. Really looking forward to the movie. |
