They deserve to be a stand-alone trilogy without Lucas involved. Everything he touches turns to shit. It would be an A+ adaptation choice though to make movies out of them. Even Shadows of the Empire would make a good movie. Why Lucas is being such a tightwad with the licenses now? He fucked up his legacy already. Just sell some licenses for Shadows, Thrawn, etc. Last edited by jayrebb : 01-17-2008 at 01:54 PM.

| I think what I want to see the most is the insane amounts of nerf rage that will follow when a main character dies in 7-9 and all the books about him/his children are suddenly ruined heh. I have always thought the people who wrote Star Wars novels set shortly after the events of RotJ were idiots. You could safely write a Star Wars novel if you just set yourself MANY years after or before those events because then you can just make shit up as you go and not have it one day completely ruined by the "real events" that Lucas would some day release. |

Guess who has been selling books by the thousands while Lucas sits pondering on whether to unleash apocalypse in the form of more scriptwriting? That's right, them idiot authors, ho ho ho silly them.

| How much money they made doesnt change what fans will think. Not to mention that believe it or not some authors take some kind of pride in their work and being told "Guess what, the book(s) that you wrote no longer make any sense" I imagine would be a bit frustrating. I dont care if I wipe my ass with gold toilet paper I dont think Id like to see years of my work basicly shit on because the maker of the series cant make up his fucking mind. |

+7 Internets | Zahn's Thawn trilogy is cannon. Lucas approved. That's why Zahn's character of Mara Jade was in the Lucas Arts games.

| So are a bunch of pre-Original books that got turned to absolute shit when the prequels were released. I can't believe this thread's still going...as of now there's no Episode 7-9 and if there were it would be a disaster. End of story.

| Having read the Thrawn Trilogy and knowing what fans think of 1-3, if lucas made 7-9 and either didnt use the Thrawn Trilogy (even tho, as posted above, I am pretty sure it has the Lucas gold star as what "really" happens after RotJ) or butchered it up and changed stuff around, I bet the fans would blame Lucas and not Zahn for whatever abomination was birthed out and hold the books in higher regard. |

| Anyone know how the book thing works when it comes to money? I assume that Lucas gets some sort of cut for books that Zahn and others sell right? I really have no idea I was just thinking about it and I am curious. |

| Anything less than a complete adaptation of the books for 7-9 would be a pile of shit. At least then it has a shot at being more classic and less hollywood glossy. But Im sure Lucas would demand obnoxiously young actors (cast Thrawn as Shia LaBeouf), BRIGHT CLOTHING, cheezy glossy atmosphere and settings, TONS OF CGI establishing shots, CGI ship battles, translucent story line, no character buildup, establishing no connection to characters, etc. And don't forget the incredible dialogue from 1-3 Lucas and Michael Bay seperated at birth? I take that back, Bay would do a better job. Last edited by jayrebb : 01-21-2008 at 05:19 PM. |

| Get it right. The dialog in 4-6 sucked, too. Bad dialog didn't contribute at all to the ruining of 1-3. What 4-6 had, however, was memorable delivery of one-liners. 1-3 had none of that. THAT'S what you should complain about. Sorry...derails over ![]() |
