I was just listing whatever movies came to mind as potentially relevant. Fight Club was for philosophical context, Troy for historical/mythology... whatever. I didn't say they had to be good movies. Just have some part of them that's relevant beyond the time you spend inside the theater.

Great flick.

Del Toro is an absolute movie genius when it comes to realizing Fantasy. He really has an incredible talent for drawing you in and immersing you in his worlds. The script however was meh.

Can't wait for the Hobbit.

The tumor line has to be one of the best lines in Hollywood for some time. The entire theatre was lol'ing to that one.

I loved this movie, but the whole time I kept thinking .. "God, Batman is gonna be fucking awesome!" for some reason. I really liked the small comedic bits and the characters have a lot more heart for sure.

I think the most important thing to take away from this movie is that Del Toro is a fucking master at making fantasy monsters. The Hobbit is going to kick so much ass because they can't possibly fuck up the story with Peter Jackson adapting it. The Hobbit is much more of a fairy tale than LoTR with tons of cool monsters, can't wait to see what Del Toro does with Smaug.

I want to see this movie, but the one thing holding me back is that I can't help but think it will only be a movie where an evil badass gets beaten down by a good guy who doesn't seem as badass.

I really like it, the creatures were great.

Seth MacFarlane sounded a lot like Klaus from American Dad tho. But I guess Ze Germans all sound alike.
