| That is one of the most retarded reviews I've ever read of a movie. Movies are not good or bad based on the fucking weekend they are released just because some critic thinks anything that comes out on the 4th of July must be family-friendly. Whatever the hell that means anyway--to me it says "we're taking a good idea for a movie and ruining it." Disliking a movie is never an excuse for putting major spoilers in the review either. |

+10 Internets | Well I just got back from the special screening of the movie and I'm of mixed reviews. I liked it but its not your typical super hero movie what so ever. It's not really even a Super hero movie at all once you find out the real plot to it. I like the gritty parts of Handcock though, it was refreshing to see a "hero" who was basically a drunken dick. I went into it expecting one thing and got something totally different, not that what I got was bad, it just threw me off is all. Spoiler Alert, click show to read: |

You mean kind of like what...scientology...believes? Seriously the instant I saw the preview to this I said to myself, "Self, it looks like that crazah cult is trying to self promote again, this time a bit better than battlefield earth" Not seeing this movie ever, could be gods gift to cinema, I'll pass... | |

| I thought it was pretty cool. The true plot is a kind of buzzkill. All in all I was disappointed, but my expectations were really in a different place.Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 7/10. I find all origin stories are too slow. |

| It was really boring. Will Smith looked uncomfortable throughout the movie. It was slapped together, and didn't flow. The finale was like finally meeting that hot chick you've been talking to on the internet, only to find out that she is fat. |

| I just got back from watching this movie. I saw the horrible reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, but went to see it all the same. It turned out to be pretty good. I just wish that there was a bit more dialogue at the end, or a bit more backstory. It was what it was, though. I pretty good movie, that had a ton of lol moments. I'd give it a 9/10, only because it did feel rushed at times.

+5 Internets | Went to see it Tuesday also, and while I enjoyed the movie, I was hoping for much better. I agree with the person above who mentioned in spoilers the part where probably a lot of people went from liking it to not really sure. I still enjoyed it though. I equate it to Unbreakable in a way, because when I first saw Unbreakable I was actually mad at the ending. When I thought about it more, and watched it again on DVD, I switched to liking the ending well enough and loving the movie. While I'm not sure that I am ever going to "love" Hancock, and I actually did enjoy it instead of hating it, I think I will enjoy it more seeing it again at a later date and not having to care "what is really going on." And the concept could have made for a much, much better movie if they had run with it, and maybe added another 30 to 60 minutes about that. Oh, and yeah the final "bad guys" were fucking lame, I mean laughably lame. Still, I recommend it, and would probably give it a 7 out of 10. |

| I enjoyed the movie a bit. Didn't really bother me that there was a lack of a back story (I mean, it was only briefly explained), until afterwards when my friend complained about it. But it was still an enjoyable movie, worth the $9.

| I just saw this movie today, it was kinda meh. The start of the move was actually pretty cool and funny. As he got more sober and more focused on being a super hero, it began to loose its appeal. Towards the end of the movie I was kind of lost. The story of how he got his powers was vague and the romance part was kinda dull. If it the movie was completly just him flying around drunk doing stupid shit and fighting bad guys, I probably would have enjoyed it alot more. 7.2/10 |

| Went and saw it last night and I really enjoyed it. I didn't realize it was going to be so funny. If someone had told me that I'd of worried it was going to be too corny, but it didn't come off like that at all. The major plot twist that someone else spoilered earlier totally got me, I didn't see it coming at all and I'm usually pretty good at spotting those. I actually tried to avoid all the trailers and reviews as I was excited to be immersed in a new hero and beginning, and it didn't dissapoint. They also left many things unexplained at the end so I could see the possibility of there being a sequal. Even so as a stand alone movie, it's worth seeing. 8.5/10 I'm looking forward to more discussion once more of you see it. |

| i saw it and liked it a lot. It definitely didnt have the oomph that iron man or hulk had for me so far this year, but it didn't strike me as a straight superhero movie at all so its hard to compare it to those. I would classify it in a human redemption type story line (with super powers mixed in) as opposed to the straight ahead good v. evil we see in most superhero movies. 8+/10 p.s. charlize theron was so hot in this movie |
