Errrrrrrrr, what the fuck.

So it's like Hellboy now? Constantine 2? I don't know what that trailer was, but I don't recall flying fucking demons in Max Payne.

Jesus H. Christ. The first game was an AMAZING story that could have been a kick ass movie. This trailer looks like a totally different I.P. that just used the Max Payne name.

flying demons? fuck that... this will see zero cash from me.

Edit: Actually, the trailer looked kind of cool. I'm gonna hope the demons are from dream sequences (although I doubt it considering the last window scene).

I thought they were like demons taking the souls from people that Max Payne had killed, such as the last part where he kills the guy then the demon takes his soul

Ah, that could work out to be cool. Hopefully it gets it's rating changed to an R as well. Also this could be an enjoyable film. I'm going to have to mentally separate the movie from the game because although not faithful, it has potential.

Ya know, the trailer was alright and if this wasn't supposed to be the Max Payne movie, it could actually be good. But it is, and that just pisses me off. WTF were those creatures? I would LOVE to find the guy who thought it was a good and necessary idea to put demons in Max Payne, ask him why the fuck he did it, and then punch him in the throat. What, is the Max Payne story too uninteresting without demons? Hundreds of murders, drug use, corporate conspiracies not cool enough? Jesus.

Fucking demons! FUCK!

Meh, fucking whatever. This movie looks fun. Marky-mark is a hit or miss actor to me. He's either really fucking awesome, or really fucking terrible. With that in mind, this looks like the type of role you would expect him to play.

On a side note, anyone who thinks comic/videogame/book movies are 100% true to the source material is just setting themselves up for a lifetime of disappointment.

It doesnt happen. Be glad when it rarely does.

This reminds me of people who defended Indiana Jones and Aliens. It is unreasonable to expect movies to stay close to the game, but it is not unreasonable to expect them to not add stupid shit for the sake of adding stupid shit.

That trailer looked pretty cool, but not really Max Payne.

The story is dubious. It really looks like they took the characters, the backstory, the setting and a bit of the style, and made it a story of heaven vs. hell instead of a Ragnarok allegory revolving around drugs

I like everything except the PG-13 rating and I'm not sure about the winged creatures being used as the effects/hallucinations of what the V drug does. The rest--Mila Kunis/Olga Kurylenko, Aesir Corp., the blizzard setting, his family dead as they are in the game, and the general look of the movie--all seems well done.

PG-13 is a huge fucking deal-breaker though. Somebody with some balls needs to take a good look at Wanted, and see how a R-rated movie can nearly match a Pixar release, and actually beat it on a per-theater basis, on its opening weekend. Having to wait for an unrated DVD to see the real movie is bullshit.

Mark Whatever is just not the actor they need for this movie. He just doesn't look like the character, and that pretty boy attitude of his just doesn't fit. He should look like a suicidal, violent, junkie cop.

The feeling I had when I played the game was that Payne wanted his revenge, and right after he had it he would pass out/away because all the adrenaline rush and painkillers would stop keeping him awake/alive. The trailer really didn't give me that feeling. Also, there was snow, but it didn't feel "cold" like the game did.

What's the deal with the harpy-men? There were no harpy-men in Max Payne, were there?

You know what? I think Terry Gilliam should have made this movie. Only he is crazy enough to recreate the fucked up atmosphere of the game.

I'm not defending it, I'm just saying expecting anything else is pissing in the wind. Did you expect Indiana Jones to live up to the previous ones? Probably not, especially after the last 3 Star Wars abortions? How about the Punisher previous movies? Or the Dark Phoenix (fail) in X-Men 3?

All I'm saying, is that it's like that cheap mexican restaurant you eat at down the street. Sure it's shitty, but it's what Hollywood has been serving for the past few years.

I don't really mind Marky Mark as Max Payne. Sure, they could've done better, but it's nowhere near as bad as, say, casting Tim Olyphant as 47. Hitman turned out to be a decent movie despite that, so there's no reason this can't work if the rest of the movie is good. The problem remains that the makers of Hitman had the balls to go for an R, and these asshats don't.

Wasn't the drug used in Max Payne called Valkrie(sp)? You see that guy take a vial of the stuff in the trailer so maybe those things are not real? The movie looks good but I agree that it is not very max payneish from that trailer.
