Going to see it tonight. The trailers seemed awfully cheesy to me as did the bullet curving stuff, but the hight rotten tomatoes rating and the fact that it sounds like a non-stop action ultra violent popcorn flick + Angelina Jolie who seems to be getting hotter with age = Worth $10. I expect it to be cheesy as hell but who cares? Most of the negatives on RT so far didn't like the graphic slo-mo violence it seems.

Fucking loved it. One of the best pure action movies I've seen in years, right up there with Crank and Shoot 'Em Up--if you hated those two, then just save your money and go see Wall-E (not that there's anything wrong with Wall-E, I plan to see that too).

Only two complaints really. One, the 'training' part of the movie dragged a bit, mainly because it was repetitive. The other is that I would have preferred they left the relationship between Fox and Wesley from the comic, as well as making Wesley an evil son of a bitch after he learns who he is rather than just sort of a bumbling oaf until the very end. I realize there was no way that they were going to have him running around raping and killing at random, but I thought Millar went too far in that regard anyway. Degrees of evil are far more interesting to me than simple good vs. evil, but there's got to be some sort of line.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Wanted 2 is already in the works, which seemed like a good thing until I saw the end of the movie and Pekwarsky (Terence Stamp) is the only character left alive besides Wesley. I was surprised that they had Fox kill herself too, but after thinking about it I'm guessing it probably had more to do with Angelina Jolie not being an easy actress to schedule a sequel around (see: Sin City 2) than anything else. Not sure where they can take the plot from where they left things in the end, but I guess it's so wide open they can do just about anything they want...

9/10. Summer is officially started.

Awesome. I had heard they wanted to make something like a trilogy. But really they can go anywhere. They wiped out the fraternity in the US but mentioned it started in Europe and there was the Loom there. I had never read the comic but it seems to me they'd probably start Wanted 2 with a) rebuilding the fraternity or b) skipping into the future where it's already been rebuilt and then just making a new story from there.

Frankly the action is fun enough that I don't really care what they do with the story as long as they keep it as good as this one.

They really did make Wesley a badass by the end, but it took a long time to get there.

I just saw it and it was a pretty fuckin awesome action movie. It reminded me of The Matrix. For action movie fans go see this movie it is very well done. The special effects were great and I loved the training, I didn't think that it dragged on like someone said earlier.

I just wanted to add that there were some pretty fuckin funny parts too. I loved the part with the keyboard.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I really enjoyed the movie. With that being said, I just wanted to say that imo it used the MATRIX blueprint (Which isn't a bad thing), just like how The Fast and The Furious used the blueprint from Point Break. The main char was just like Neo, an average joe outsider who works in a crap job in a little cubicle and he becomes "the one". In the movie they can jump and do special things like in The Matrix. Both characters go through cool training. They both had a fortune teller thingy (the oricle and the loom). There is a double cross in both movies and it leads to both "NEO" chars go into the HQ guns blazing in a really sweet scene with lots of slow motion. Then at the very end we see that he is "the one".

With that being said I look forward to Wanted 2. I hope it is better than the Matrix sequals which got worse and worse (Part 3 sucked balls imo). Also without Angelina Jolie in it it makes me sad because her character was really badass in this movie. Brad Pitt is one lucky Mofo.

loved this movie, definitely had flavors of past movies a bit...felt like a matrix/fight club hybrid with the narration. I realized after the train scene that my jaw had been hanging open for about 5 minutes straight. This is the first movie I can remember seeing where I called friends immediately after to tell them to see it today.

Out of curiosity, does it follow the comic?

It follows it loosely.

You won't get the rapaging and pillaging.

I don't think Rictor etc are in there either. Seeing it tomorrow.

Holy shit this movie was awsome. Way better then I thought it was going to be. The commentary through the movie had me laughing my ass off.

It hardly follows the comic at all. With that said, it was entertaining and definitely a fun fucking movie.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Two complaints. One, the goofy loom. Second, the "suicide" circle Fox made. Not just a bullet making a complete circle, but Fox offing herself just seemed weird. Yeah, the code, greater good, (and of course, Jolie's availability as previously mentioned) etc. Still, it bugged me. If it was because of the code, I just disagree with their choice of plot progression. But if it was over Jolie, that's lame. Compromising a film's content for the sake coherence in a possible sequel is just wrong to me. Otherwise, kickass movie.

Well, when she explained the code earlier in the movie, it showed she is a firm believer in it. So the code I felt was a valid excuse for it, but it does make me wonder why her name came up in the first place. Given she would give her life for the code vs the other people in the room who said "fuck the code".

Oh well. I'll accept it if it is because of Jolie..because if they didn't do it and she wasn't willing to be in sequels, I'd rather they do this than get anyone else to play her part.

Are you kidding me? It made PERFECT sense that Fox killed everyone off AND herself. She's the ONLY one that truly believed in the code (because of her father's death.)

Anyways, fantastic movie. It was great. Way better than I thought it would be and my expectations were moderately high.

The problem is that Sloan admitted he was faking the hit orders and then expects them to believe that all of their names really came up and not just his own. I can see Fox killing the rest of them because they were going to side with Sloan even though the code said he should die, but killing herself too seemed a bit extreme when it could have all been bullshit.

She was a little late doing the job too--if her name really did come up, it had to be to prevent her from killing all those people on the train when she crashed the car into it and caused it to fall off the bridge. Take a life to save a thousand, but what's the point when the thousand are already dead?

I still think my original assumption is the real reason things went down the way they did though.

Kinda mixed on this one. Liked a lot of the beginning and the pacing/directing, but there was some real eye-rolling parts of just blatent fight club/matrix ripoffs and the shaky-cam during the action scenes was awful. Who likes that?? Seriously. Also I am serious non-fan of Jolie, I think she's waaaaaay past her prime here and looks just ugh. I dunno, I liked some of it, not sure its really worth seeing in the theater though.
