Thinking back, the action reminds me much more of 300 than The Matrix. Fast-paced with an occasional slowdown to make the hero seem even more badass. Matrix was all super fast minus the bullet stopping shit.

Movie seemed kind of like a video game to me. I didn't hate it, but definitely check your brain at the door. It's all about cool effects and action scenes so enjoy it for that and don't worry about the cheese and you will probably have fun. Visually it's a great movie. Some of the car tricks are at least as ridiculous as the bullet bending IMO, but like I said, just turn your "suspend disbelief" knob all the way up and enjoy the movie.

After reading some information about what this was based on, I'm kind of disapointed in the storyline.

But it was a good popcorn flick.

I didn't hate it, but I'm not totally gung ho about the movie either. The guy sort of annoyed me, but the action scenes were really well done.

It was alright. I guess my essential problem is that I could have stayed home and watched Equilibrium or The Matrix on DVD which are both just better. It used some bad CGI in places that wasn't necessary and at times it definitely felt like an amalgam of many other films. I would have liked some more explanation for the fucking pile of gimmick/antique/signature weapons but meh. From the previews and opening shootouts I was pretty sure the guns were magical.

It didn't break new ground but it was nowhere near the "bad" category either.

loved the comic, not the best but w/e

enjoyed the movie for the most part but it really started to lose it for me when they introduced the loom fate b.s.

better then the last two matrix movies easily, perhaps not as cool as equilibrium.
God jolie is old... still hot.

GO TUMNIS GO.

I can't wait to see what else this director does however.

yep thats my review.

Little tidbit I came across from the writer of the screenplay

I saw, in an interview with one of the actors, that said actor decided to cut out lines in the interest of maintaining character.

How do you deal with that?

Do you deal with that, or does the director make the call?

p.s. - was the trip to Prague worth it?

Quote:
1. Angelina thought early on that her character should say less. No quips or come-backs or double entendres.

2. We agreed and rewrote the scenes she was in to give her less to say. At times it was a challenge, and at other times, it was a fairly easy lift. She's great in the film and her character is better for her note.

3. Hell yeah.

good fundamental concept design to include that kind of depth to your designs.
Well at faster speeds aerodynamics would matter. If you were to pass through a gaseous field in space at near light speeds it would be like passing through standard atmosphere at much lower speeds. If you have some silly design the matter could pool into weak spots and shear off segments. Alternatively you'd need to create a strong magnetic field like the sun does for our solar system, but I have no idea how effective that would be at high speed.

Got a chance to see it last night and really enjoyed it. The action was great and even though she's old, Jolie looked fucking awesome.

If I enjoyed the movie, would it be worth while for me to pick up the comic?

Well, if you liked the original matrix then you should see it. It's similar IMO. Lots of great action. It has the feel of the Boondock saints (aka fuck you, fuck the world, Im gonna do what I want to do).

PS Someone respond with how to hide text and I'll post a link to the full movie with a disclaimer... if the mods let me :P
