| I'm not too big on anime, but here's a few of the favorites I've seen and would recommend (plus are easily accessible to dubbed/subbed version via torrents, youtube, or stage6) Hellsing OVA - the anime is good in itself but a complete butcher of the manga, the OVA is where it's at. The 4th volume is set to come out any week now and it really is just amazing, Alucard is one of the coolest protagonists. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust - (this is a movie, not an anime series) the first Vampire Hunter, but this follow-up 15 years later really is a gem. You don't need to watch the first to understand it or really know anything else about D, another good thing is it's not long (under 2hrs?) for easy viewing. Neon Genesis Evangelion - some people always claim this to be overhyped, but I absolutely loved it. If you're into philosophy you can appreciate this to the fullest, there's so many different things to go into with this. Be sure to watch the End of Eva alternate, true ending instead of the meh standard series version. Most of my others have already been mentioned so I'll leave it to those 3 which are pretty easy to get into, good luck in your findings. PS. special shoutout to the Naruto: Shippuden manga, easy to find online and it's really quite phenomenal how its progressed... don't listen to the "lolruto" crap and see for yourself whether you enjoy it. |

+17 Internets | Er, well sort of. The first 26 episode season is complete and wraps up nicely and it could be finished right there. But there's also an on going manga that goes past that and could easily give them material for more seasons. |

Trigun is a very fun show to watch, but I kinda feel like I outgrew it in high school. Cowboy Bebop, on the other hand, remains one of my favorite television shows period. | |

+17 Internets | I'm going to have to second Full Metal Panic! since there's not much mention of it here. It's a great series and one of the first three that got me into anime. My first three were basically FMP, Scryed, and Initial D. |

+1 Internets | I was with FMA for the first 26 episodes or so, but around 30 I remember it taking a nosedive into bullshit. Fortunately, somebody made a parody that was worth having the series around. |

| yes, the fma manga IS vastly superior, the story is alot tighter and coherrent, while the anime loses alot of the story near the end, the progression starts to jump all over the place, then the last episode plus the movie are just silly and incredibly out of place from where the anime started. since now you have me talking about manga, read Shin Angyo Onshi, Etc~ :: Sao, and do it now |

+4 Internets | Ah full metal panic that was pretty decent. School Rumble was ridicoulous but fun. Some older series i like would be GTO (Great teacher onizuka) and Berserk which not everyone will get into but is simply great for its concentration on one man's story and some crazy violence. The story is pretty good in berserk as well after episode one. Which reminds me of Gungrave, very similar timeline (first episode is in the future) but not quite as gungrave has an actual ending. First episode of Gungrave might throw you off but it goes into the past where the best part of the story is. Which kind of reminds me of emotional anime's, Now and then and Here Again (ova 12 eps) and Saikano, which made me feel sadder then I thought was possible--no form of media had caused this before, and i'm not talking about single tear shit like Mufasa's death in the Lion King either. Saikano was ridiculously sad. Another good anime is the very first Kenshin OVA (Samurai X as released here, pwn it made it to Animenfo's top spot). Very different tone from the series but it was executed very well. Any more postings and I'll be reminded of the ridiculous amount of anime i've seen. Edit: Oh fuck i forgot about death note, awesome series especially up to 25/26. Last edited by Kaio : 10-22-2007 at 08:14 PM. |

+17 Internets | First couple are pretty funny, but it really ramps up when Nagasumi goes back home and Luna joins the cast. Luna is my favorite SnH character, btw. =\ Last edited by Sean : 10-22-2007 at 09:37 PM. |
