Wow. looking at his IMDB: Avi Arad 1. "Iron Man" (2008) TV Series (in production) (executive producer) (2007) 2. Captain America (2009) (announced) (executive producer) 3. The Hands of Shang-Chi (2009) (announced) (producer) 4. Spider-Man 4 (2009) (announced) (producer) 5. Luke Cage (2009) (announced) (executive producer) 6. Magneto (2009) (announced) (producer) 7. The Avengers (2009) (announced) (executive producer) 8. Silver Surfer (2009) (announced) (producer) 9. Ant-Man (2008) (announced) (executive producer) 10. Deathlok (2008) (announced) (producer) 11. Iron Fist (2008) (announced) (executive producer) 12. Nick Fury (2008) (announced) (producer) 13. Wolverine (2009) (pre-production) (executive producer) 14. Thor (2009) (pre-production) (producer) Guess he is singlehandedly trying to kill superhero movies.

Avi Arad has nothing to do with actually making these movies. He runs Marvel. Originally he was a toymaker who started a company called ToyBiz, which later acquired a majority interest in Marvel Comics. He no longer owns the majority share in Marvel, but he still runs their licensing and business development. He's been doing a stellar job at that, too. He's the one who finally decided to license Marvel properties like X-Men and Spiderman for the big screen, and he is largely the reason you saw the X-Men movies and the Spiderman movies come to life in the first place. Marvel had been hesitant to license its big names for live-action features for decades, and Arad finally brokered the truce between Marvel and the studios. That said, he doesn't actually produce the movies. He signs off on budgets and actors and whatnot in a real capacity, but he's not actually out there making them, any more than anyone else who's an Executive Producer is out there making the movies he/she Executive Produces. Executive Producer is a misleading title in the movie business; it's the Producer who does the hands-on work. The opposite is the case in TV, wherein the Executive Producer is the one calling the shots. It's worth noting that Arad is a brilliant businessman, and he's the one who turned Marvel around from the brink of bankruptcy in the mid-1980s and turned it into the world's largest comic book publisher by market share.

Yeah it sure wasm't due to the actions of editor in chief joe quesada, that dude is a first rate tool. marvel only sells about $500k in actualy comic books per years. its all toy, movie, direct to dvd and licensing making the company so successful.

Doubtful. IMDB is rarely accurate about movies in pre-production, development, or even mid-production. Especially when it comes to release dates. Just because something says "2008" or "2009" on IMDB doesn't mean it's going to be released around then.
