Pretty much expecting total shit but there could be a great script taken from the Velious era. you have dwarfs, giants and dragons in mass. A group of hero's who could basically do the whole back stab each of the three factions to attain the main goal. I doubt anyone could actually put it together but damn i love it if someone did.

Yeah EverQuest could make a badass animated series I think. When you bring real humans holding shields and slaying dragons and giants and shit, unless your budget is LOTR style, it just looks lolarious/horrible

This project has been in development hell for almost 3 or 4 years now. Surprised they're actually going through with it.

Original thread on the subject from 2003 (yikes!):

I think my favorite was this ham:
Quote:
Determined to salvage her father's reputation, Marci stands up to Dr. S and tries to tone down his bad-boy edge as she fends off the hostile message board trolls and the ultraconservative Lord Inquisitor Seru (DeVito), who are determined to humble Dr. S and ruin Marci's father in the process
Especially if Seru was basically his character from It's Always Sunny. With a big fucking sword and his own city.

The movie could end with the group of heroes getting pwned by 2000 other adventurers pissed at them for waking the Sleeper.

I thought they already made an Everquest movie. wasnt it named Lightning Bolt?

Seriously the only way for an everquest movie to work to our kind of humor was if Kevin Smith was an oldschool EQ player. i never heard that he was so we probably missed the boat on this i think.

It wouldn't be geared solely toward EQ fans/veterans. It'd entice anyone attracted to technical wizardry (lol pun).

I honestly cannot understand the reasoning behind this. It just stings thinking about it. I can't think of any reason to create this film other than money, and even then I'm wondering what low ambitions drove them to an Everquest motion picture.

Seriously, what the fuck? This is infinitely more retarded than a D&D movie. At least with D&D you can pull a narrative from somewhere. Forgotten Realms in general has so much more potential in raw fantasy than EQ has. I could believe that somewhere some talented schmuck could be enamored with Baldur's Gate and decide to base a movie off of that. Not that its a garauntee, but your source is at least much richer. But Everquest? Does this money go to the make McQuaid look more retarded foundation that Sony is capitalizing on? Do they need some extra cash to pay the therapy bills for the people still working on Vanguard?

There was a site a long time ago where someone actually took the time to write up a short desription of something like 50 episodes to an everquest animated series. Voice casts, charachter drawings, and summaries of every episode. Over something like 3 -4 seasons. Was really interesting reading since I believe they went through EQ, Kunark, Velious, Luclin, and then PoP. each one takeing a season to go through. Would have been draw in the fashion of the Batman animated series. Skinny legs and broad chests.

So is that like someone living in a dream world? They even made up their own press announcements about Cartoon Network and Adult Swim.
