Heartbreak Kid

I looked over the first 2 pages and used the search tool but didn't see anything.

I went and saw it last night with my gf. I hated it. It had a few funny moments but overall it was horrid. It's antiromantic comedy... I had hope for it early on but as it developed it just got worse and worse and was like the greatest duh movie of all time. Duh if you do this you're gonna regret it.... duh........

Throw in Jerry Stiller, who I supremely hate from King of Queens, and it's even worse. The sad thing about it though.... he actually made the movie more tolerable as the closest thing to a voice of reason... I don't know how anyone could be in the process of filming this and not know that it's going to suck. Isn't there some mental comparison of when a story was funny to a group and when it bombed horribly?

Toss in joke stealing Carlos Mencia with the worst portrayal of a common mexican in history.

Sometimes Ben Stiller is great and other times I hate the shit he does. He definitely walks that line like no one else.

Caught this with my gf last night, too. She wanted to see it simply because, as she said "everything else looked like it sucked more."

So yeah, we didn't have high expectations and it landed about where we figured. Most of the jokes were lame and the sex stuff just felt really immature to me (I mean, that scene where it shows her bush poofing out? Is this movie aimed at high schoolers?)

Only saving grace for me was I found Miranda (the girl he falls for) to be really cute. And so did my gf, so I was totally in the clear when ogling her.

3:10 to Yuma, Across the Universe, Michael Clayton... hell even Resident Evil rounds out the list of movies I would see before Heartbreak Kid.

Across the Universe and Michael Clayton weren't playing, she doesn't like Westerns (although I agree, 3:10 looks awesome and I want to see it) and we've already seen Resident Evil. So, it really was the only choice pretty much.

My gf wanted to see it. I drug her to The Kingdom the week before and 3:10 to Yuma a week or so before that so it was her turn to pick. Unfortunately for me they advertised the shit out of heartbreak kid so she had a lot of exposure to it.

First post woo, anyway I saw it with a bunch of my cousins, we all thought it was sort of funny. Some scenes were great imo

Others... not so much, but yeah it didn't really feel like that great of a movie, too many cliche jokes make it kind of meh.
