No, that was a joke...at least during the Buu saga. They all had really try not to hit it hard, because they didn't want to freak out everyone. Then Vegeta gets all pissed about trying to hide their strength and punches the machine so hard it explodes. Vegeta was probably the funniest regular character.

I still the think my favorite fight was Goku and Pikhan in the afterlife. It wasn't anything special fight-wise, but it was around that time that I had begun to wonder 'what happened to the kaioken?' since they had all gone super saiyan already and it hadn't shown up in forever, then out of nowhere Goku busts out the super kaioken and like breaks everything, it was hilarious~

Worlds Strongest is the best bar far though, the doctor in his robot suit nuking Goku from orbit was fantastic.

I remember that battle against Pikhan. Pikhan was definately much faster and slightly more powerful than Goku, and his finish move was definately nastier than Goku's Kamehameha.. in the end, Goku won when both of them began to charge up for their final attacks, and as Goku was about to say the final "ah!", he teleported right next to Pikhan who was just about to unleash his attack, and fired it right into his side. Bastard just got knocked off the ring, mind you. Hah.

I just wish DBZ had never taken the anime approach of, 'we can kill off main characters, but lets not let it mean dick and just bring them back later np'.

Goku getting to the point where he realizes Cell is about to self destruct and destroy the entire planet, being the hero he is and teleporting himself and Cell away to protect the planet thus killing himself and Cell in the process, only to have Cell pull himself back together in the next episode and come back even more powerful.

Vegeta all finally realizing what he had to do, and sacrificing himself to try and destroy Fat Buu in protection of his wife and child...only to have it mean absolute dick in the next episode when Buu just pulls himself back together.

And the numerous other moments like that. Potential for huge goodness, but then in the next episode they just say 'fuck it' and bring the villain back. Meh.

But if the heroes had died when they were already dead then they would have REALLY been dead. Probably.

At least it wasn't as bad in the begining of DBZ. When Goku died during the Raditz fight, Raditz stayed dead. Even up to the fight with Vegeta/Nappa the people who died stopped playing any real role in the series.

Man I like to believe that statement,BUT I was unfortunate enough to drive my brothers kid to one of those Anime Con's last year.

Its all underage sluts wearing close to nothing dressed up as there favorite anime characters,and the boys were outnumbered like 3 to 1.

They have to be getting some play I would think...Definately a freak show tho
