| Highlander: The Source Highlander: The Source | SCIFI.COM Watched this last week, couldn't bring myself to post a thread about it until today. I can understand the desire to advance the lore forward instead of the standard kill immortals w/flashback recipe the series was successful with but they certainly could have come up with something better than this. In the near future, humanity is falling apart, and group of immortals that includes Methos are searching for The Source - some magical power that can save the world. Duncan's mortal ex-lover, who left him because of his inability to give her children, sees visions of The Source that the other immortals use as a guide, and Duncan reluctantly agrees to join them. Spoiler Alert, click show to read: ps. Why the hell can't the Highlander movies find actors that can fake sword fight better than I used to do at 5 with a broom handle? | Sooo is the series/story over now? I have never been a Highlander junky but I have always kinda been curious how it all will end when there is "only one" left standing. I suppose thats a bit much to ask though as the creators are going to milk it till its dry. |

The original Highlander movie leaves Conner MacCloud as the "one" but Highlander 2 uses an immortals-as-aliens plot line to allow the story to continue. The Highlander television series ignores the plot lines from Highlander 2 and 3, and also ignores the ending from 1 (no gathering and no immortal becomes "the one"). Highlander: Endgame (4) is a mix of good and bad moments, but they break some of the immortal tradition/lore established by the series. Highlander: The Source (5) separates the concept of The Source from The One - the gathering hasn't happened. Last edited by Jovec : 09-23-2007 at 03:00 PM. | |

| Please, please let it end. I thought Dracula 3000 was the worst "Sci Fi Original" film to be released. I have been proven wrong. I watched the movie this last Thursday and wondered why there had not been a thread on it, and now I know. Had the plot actually been developed at all, it could have had possibilities. No real backstory other than "the world is in turmoil, and civilization is falling apart"; No character development/progression; Horrible fight scenes/CGI (although some of the cinematography was actually decent); Spoiler Alert, click show to read: Panzer/Davis should never have allowed a crossover between the films and the series. The two mythos/concepts should have stayed completely separate. Original Highlander Movie(s); Highlander Series (reboot/reinterpretation) ~~> "New" HL films. I have to admit, though, that I am one of the few who liked parts of HL 2 simply because it showed that becoming "the one" didn't necessarily mean a fairytale ending. Never cared for the attempts to explain their origin, however. |

| Yeah I saw the pirated russian DVD and this was easily the worst movie I have ever, ever seen. I love the first highlander and have tried to erase The Source from my memory. The anime was pretty decent though, forgot the name. |

| I'm a huge highlander fan, and I started watching this on Sci-Fi the other night, and well once that fucking retarded looking guy started zipping around the room fighting that other immortal, I had to turn the shit off because it was just stupid. I was extremely disappointed with that movie. Seems like the quality really took a nosedive. |

| Too bad there couldn't have been only one. The original move did such a good job of telling and holding back just enough, then they had to go and ruin it with all this other crap.
