So this is not a site to download torrents from. It just lists scene releases.

VCD Quality

Good place to find out what's out there and if it's a good copy. After that just snag from your favorite site.

So I signed up for that Revott site to check it out and now I have a question. What is the purpose of private tracker sites? Looking on Revott I see a bunch of new-ish stuff that I can't download on the front page and if I search for them on other sites, e.g. mininova, btjunkie, etc, I find them right there with tons of seeders. There isn't even any "rare" material on the private tracker compared to main stream torrent sites.

With sites like rlslog and zerosec doing scene releases minutes after the group releases them, I just don't see the draw to Revott compared to other sites. Please correct me if I'm missing something.

Pretty much spot on. It's certainly not specialized, but of the "everything" trackers it's pretty good. Releases hit a few minutes after pre'd. Speeds can top 40-50Mbps on most things. There's a request section for just about anything released ever - haven't had a req go unfilled yet. A lot of the HBO leaks originated from Revott.

Just posted it because it's rare for this site to have open registration. As for not being able to download from the frontpage, there's a delay for new members to prevent leaching - you have to maintain a ratio with a certain amount uploaded.
