| Hey guys, the conspirators striked once more. This time they used a tanker truck with 8600 gallons of gasoline to melt the steel rails of an overpass. Or did they? *twitch* http://www.mercurynews.com/ci_5780113 |

| Sweet free kool-aid! It is funny how a building can fall by itself, but it should stand tall if an airplane crashes on it. Err nm im not gonna discuss this with someone who is paranoid, there is no point. But I don't blame ya... it is part of human behavior. |

| Honestly, I believe in some unpopular shit. But I seriously don't see what is so difficult to understand about air liners full of fuel crashing into buildings at 500 mph taking them down. 747s carry a lot of fuel. Steel melts. Fuck, humans were making steel thousands of years ago. It's not like the melting point is terribly difficult to reach. Hell, it wasn't even the first time those assholes tried to destroy the buildings. It's sort of like JFK I guess. People just don't want to believe that idiots living in caves can hurt us like they did. After all, we're America the invincible. Just as people don't want to believe Oswald could kill such a popular president by himself. Conspiracies turn victims into martyrs. Believing in conspiracies also makes you think you're somehow special for "not being fooled like everybody else" or for knowing things everybody else doesn't. Even if you suspect there may be some conspiracy behind something, you really can't do anything more than ask more questions. Acting on your suspicions before getting more facts just leads to witch hunts. It goes both ways as well, though. Often I see skeptics who are just as zealous as the believers. Some dude faked a film with an alien? That proves it! Aliens are a hoax! Mystery solved! Everybody who believes in ETs are nuts! It's also ok to neither believe nor disbelieve in something. Sometimes I think everybody forgets that you don't have to commit belief in anything. "Inconclusive" should really be a common response to "do you believe in..." queries. In this case though, I'm going with the brainwashed Muslim whack jobs murdering innocent people in the name of Allah belief. There is far more evidence in ET than Bush ordering planes into the towers. Last edited by Torrid; 07-15-2007 at 05:10 AM.. |

I think the internet is a big help to these 9/11 truther types mainly because you cant actually see them when you're on the net. If you go down to ground zero in NYC and see them, you'll know exactly who you're dealing with. They piss a lot of people off, I see a lot of folks get angry with them because of the nonsense they spew but you have to look at it kind of like you're in a zoo observing the behavior of monkeys flinging shit at each other. It's kind of interesting in that perspective.

What makes you think the WTC buildings were the world's "strongest towers." Do they hand that award out yearly? Fact is, if it were so obvious that the towers came down with explosives, or if it was so extraordinary that airplanes of that size, speed, and fuel content took down the buildings, we'd be hearing about it. Constantly. Engineering departments around the world have done case studies on the WTC collapses, I guess they're all in on the plot too I guess. Shit, studying the WTC collapses is now probably it's own course in CivEng streams. If you can't see how an airplane could destroy those buildings flying that fast, with that much fuel, and with a building whose structural support was largely on the exterior (and not the interior like most high rises, whoops, maybe they're not the "strongest towers") then perhaps you should chock it up to ignorance and lack of knowledge. And not a conspiracy theory.

Man, this stuff. When I was working I was kissing a client's ass and did a lot of stuff with them. I went to their church a couple of times when they invited me. It was a Jewish/christian type thing of some sorts. Anyway, the church held a 2 hour presentation on how Hurricane Katrina was used by God to hurt America for abandoning Israel. I sat through it. OK, the premise sounds nuts to most people, right? I agree as well. Even still, for as much as I didn't buy into it, the proof put out there was very persuasive to listen to. The author of the premise made all these connections to things that happened. Quotes from politicians and biblical stuff, stories, proof of events with articles in major newspapers and TV, photos, dates. Then he would draw parallel after parallel. Not just one or two things, easily 50 to 100. Afterwords most of the 200 people in the church, many were guests, were buzzing about how this had so much merit. I almost immediately thought of all the 9/11 stuff and how people buy into that. There is just so much stuff happening on large events, all those people doing all those things, billions and billions of possible sequences and possibilities of how stuff happened for inferences to be made. I imagine with all of these seemingly plausible inferences anyone, who makes that one choice early on to believe there might be merit to what is being said, and so open themselves up to it, can be easily sucked in. Oh the the Lusitania? Our government and media had been heavily infiltrated by British agents, who's mission was to sway the US into war. I forgot the agents name, but Wilson had a very good British friends, who probably gave him advice on policy, that was a British intelligence agent. Like I said - there's much easier ways to get a country into war, then and now. Idiots.

| It really is amazing... and the amount of people that believe it is just... sick. Put together a video with scary music, some talking points loosely tied together by mostly coincidences or things that can't be proven, put it out on the internet, and you have a cult. The funniest thing is that the people that completely buy into these crackpot theories based on only an amateur internet video or website with no scientific evidence try to call out everyone else for being sheep. Use some common sense and apply the same scrutiny to the conspiracy theories and the people feeding them to you that you do the government. If you hate Bush or the war, fine, there are many valid reasons... don't let your hatred blind you. I know this is pointless, since anyone whose logic meter is working correctly wouldn't need to be told this in the first place. |

I don't particularly like this administration, but the conspiracy assumes the following: - Countless people in on it. Seriously, probably tens of thousands. The President, his cabinet, our intelligence agencies, the people who were there when it happened, the countless researchers who documented EVERYTHING that happened. And of course to all these people who would be in on it, what is their compensation? I think at a very basic level I think most people would have a significant problem killing 3,000 of your fellow own citizens for whatever reason. - The people involved in the conspiracy, all of them, are completely fucking evil monsters. You really have to be a psychopath with no value to human life to be a part of a plan to crash planes into the Pentagon and the WTC to use as a catalyst for starting a war in the middle east. Seriously, pure evil. I mean if 10, 20 years from now the conspiracy is exposed and turns out to be true, well egg on my face for not believing so many people could be that evil. I have a much easier time believing it was orchestrated by a radical terrorist organization that hates the U.S. for countless reasons. I can at least wrap my brain around that. If that makes me a sheep, well, bahhhhhh.

| Here's my stance on the issue(and pretty much every divisive issue like this): Conspiracy theories are bullshit. Government explanations are at least half bullshit. We'll never ever know what actually happened 100%. EVER NEVER FUCKING EVER. Just deal with it. |
