| Tie up this one? That would be an absolutely horrible idea. The original Star Trek universe is a long dead and stagnant horse that has been beat well past its death. Please do not attempt resuscitation. They're be far better off starting up a new series based on the new universe - it doesn't have to be done with this Enterprise's crew either after the movies are done. It could be a different ship, ect. |

| I find it somewhat depressing that Transformers 2 will almost certainly have a bigger box office total than this. I might just have to go back and see it a couple more times in the coming weeks just out of pure spite for Michael Bay.

| I grew up watching the original series and I liked this film a lot. It was definitely flawed, and there were moments that annoyed me (Spock and Uhuru's pointless romance/Scotty's waterpark ride in the tubes), but it was enjoyable. Urban as McCoy was worth the ticket price alone. The original series was about the character chemistry for me, and I think this cast has it just about nailed. I'm definitely looking forward to what they do with a sequel now that the origin-story stuff is out of the way. |

| Speaking of the Borg, don't you think Spock would be concerned about that - I hope his Vulcan academy is based on the concept of "Holy fuck, those guys are going to come kick our asses and we damn well better be ready." |

| if fun, watchable is synonymous with retarded and shallow, sure. even someone who isn't a fan of star trek would say this movie is awful. there are so many things that make absolutely no sense and show complete lack of even just a little thought. the plot is pathetic drivel, but you can tell the characters were written to do absurd, irrational, and completely weird things just to advance the piece of shit. if you say this is a good movie (i guess different from "i enjoyed it"; i dunno i'm trying to save your respect here.. maybe you had a fun time at the theater or something.. i hope), then unfortunately you are a real fucking idiot. |

| Dumar, I don't think it's possible for you to lead anything but a sad, sad existence. Who torments a Star Trek thread on an MMO message board and has a full, rich, enjoyable life? You are so insecure that you have to fight tooth and nail, furiously typing out your opinion every few hours, trying to validate your beliefs by getting everyone to see it your way. Your like the Rorschach of fohguild.org, except not appealing in any way and instead of fighting crime and corruption, you fight new-school Star Trek fans. It's just depressing, that's all. Someone who knows you should stage an intervention. Don't you have any friends or family? |

+5 Internets | Just a praise from a random internet dude, GO SEE IT! Best movie of my life, it was goofy but god goosebumps and tears (I'm a fan), felt like an old friend just had a new chance on life. It was lighthearted and payed respect to Nimoy, much deserved. ![]() Good day to be alive. (edit) Also my favorite review site has it high high praises: Star Trek Movie Reviews, Pictures - Rotten Tomatoes 96% 8.1 Last edited by NativityInBlack; 05-10-2009 at 10:08 AM.. |
