| this is an average movie at best. it's chronicles of riddick with the name star trek glued on; exactly as i thought it would be. there was just too much inconsistency about everything. kirk being promoted from midshipman to capt of the flagship in a day? okay. this wasn't star trek in any sense of the word.. really, it's a bad space opera, alright action movie. which is great for the teeny bopsters i guess. oh, and stop pushing the lens flair button please. ps, the worst tragedy is probably spock and uhura. +23 Internets | I don't know how they could have possibly made it more obvious than when spock stands on the bridge and says this in the movie.

| I saw this today at the 4k projection theater in Austin the Alamo Village. Nothing like a Fireman's #4 and a movie to start the day off. I again saw it for work at a normal theater and damn the difference in visual quality is startling. I could read everything on the monitors, screens w/e. I thought it was a great reworking of Kahn. the cast felt perfect. Its hard to pick out one performance out of them all that i liked the most. Bones or Chekov maybe. Whatever the case I say bring on the Klingon.

Every single character was very similar to their older counterpart; I swear to god you act stupid just to be stupid.

| The GF and I were not big fans. The casting other than Chekov was good and the plotting and cinematography was fine but it just felt like a fanfic; every single trek cliche besides "nuclear wessels" was in the movie. I dunno, I am not even a huge fan and there was a dozen nits I could pick out, but besides that the horrible retconning and blatant moneygrab that this movie was just kinda left a bad taste in my mouth. Wasn't horrible, but pay $10 only if you are expecting a popcorn summer movie. |

| Are you seriously bashing new movies because you're upset that you can't stuff money into the industry's pockets to watch the exact same shit you've already seen in a different decade because you're too lazy to watch reruns? The Coyote vs. Road Runner marketing plan?
