+4 Internets | Step Brothers New Will ferrell Movie with John C Riley. Shrug, he really needs to go back to being a supporting actor or get a solid backup cast like he did in anchorman

| I cracked up when the bunk bed crashed. When they ran into the kids I thought of those fucked up threads here on fohguild asking how many 10 year olds you can beat up. I haven't been into Will Ferrell's work for a while now, and I haven't seen Dewey Cox yet (kinda want to), but this actually looks funny. I hope it's everything it seems to be and more. |

Ferrell just can't compete... Judd Apatow has really stepped up the requirements for comedies. Ferrell being a total idiot constantly has lost its funny. | |

| There was a different trailer for this movie out on TV that was pretty damn funny. It had them trying to sabotage the sale of their house by being a Nazi and a KKK member. I can't find it though. ![]()

| This movie looks funny but I have a strange feeling that much like Get Smart, every funny part has been shown in the trailer and the remaining 110 minutes is a waste of time. At least the trailer is hilarious and the R rating allows for a larger variety of comedic possibilities.

| These days the only trailer I usually watch is the one in theatres and even then a lot of the movie gets spoiled. This movie looks pretty funny and I'm a pretty big Ferrell fan myself. I think it has a lot to do with a cousin I have that naturally is just as stupid as Ferrell acts to be in most of his characters. |

| This thread should be merged into this one imo. I want to gouge my eyes out every time I see the trailer, and unfortunately I think it's been shown before every damn movie I've seen this spring/summer. |

+1 Internets | This. I like Ferrell alot, but am just not a big John Reilly fan. I don't really think he is that funny. Dewey Cox was stupid. He needs to surround himself with funny guys and feed off each other.. not just one semi-funny, semi-retarded costar. |

| I want this one to fail hard. hollywood needs to realize Will Ferrell isn't funny, his same approach to every movie is tired. Or alternatively Ferrell has to stop taking every retarded comedy that comes his way. Vince Vaughn has made himself scarce for the past while. I think the movie going public is ready for another movie with him. Will Ferrell and Jack Black, and maybe Steve Carrell. all of them need to go away for awhile. |

| Call me the black sheep but I'm looking forward to this one. Growing up with my brother and step-brother, seeing the trailer was a flashback to all the shit we used to pull back then. I also loved Talladega Nights and thought that Ferrell and Reilly were a perfect pair for it. I think this movie will do fairly well, probably not as good as Talladega Nights. It will most likely fall a little behind Blades of Glory in terms of critical reception.

| I just got back from seeing an early screening of this movie and have to say I was quite surprised at how much I liked it. I went into it thinking "I get to see it for free, it can't be that bad" and ended up really really liking it. I was expecting the same humor as "Talladaga Nights", but it is much much cruder. They throw the F word around a lot and usually its a turn off but it ended up hilarious. Not sure what else to say other than if you're on the fence about watching this, its probably worth a watch. |
