Final Fantasy had a wide target audience with a completely CGI movie, but the story wasn't suited for the majority of the viewers.

Speed Racer has a much narrower audience with heavy CGI, but the story was suited for the viewers.

Scores measure the overall, not the specific.

My friend went and saw it Saturday. He is a die hard Speed Racer fan. Absolutely loved the cartoon and said he was going to see the movie no matter how shitty it was. This is the entire e-mail he sent me after.

It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. Honestly I would not have watched it in a theater if not for my 8 year old son.

You can definitely see the Wachowski Bros style. It's like The Matrix with cars and Speed is Neo Racing Jesus out to save/change the world.

And it ended the weekend box office in 2nd with 20.2 million. 30 mill behind Iron Man and .2 mill ahead of that stupid Kutcher/Diaz Vegas movie, rofl.

I don't know what the hell you guys are smoking. I looked at that trailer and this look like dog shit. Well, actually, that's probably great if you're between 8 and 12. What the hell are I missing here? And is the name of the main character actually Speed Racer? You've got to be kidding me.

when movie critics say a film is an edge of your seat thrillride, its usually a way overrated remark, speed racer was so fucking awesome. it is really an edge of your seat thrillride. and its fucking nuts. they have many kiddie oriented moments but its a fucking dark movie, people getting killed in the races left and right, kickass violence, and even has John Goodman being a fucking badass. best action movie of the year so far. i need to see it again.the speed racer cartoon was for the most part shit and i saw every speed racer as a kid, this movie was so much cooler than that crap.

hey buddy all you had to do was mention rambo. i forgotten that came out in january, thought it was late december. but you're right Rambo was a more badass action movie tho speed racer is on a much bigger scale.
