| Day Watch Trailer: Foxfilm.se - Trailers Excellent movie (it's been on R5 DVD for a while). It should make people who thought Night Watch was too slow/dull/confusing/whatever happier too, as this part has even more action and special effects and the plot isn't hard to grasp at all. Hopefully they'll give it the same subtitle treatment here in the states as they did with Night Watch last year, and it would also be nice if they'd resist the temptation to edit the hell out of the movie like they did with Night Watch as well. Definitely looking forward to seeing it on a big screen on June 1 either way though. Still not sure why they call this Day Watch rather than Night Watch 2, however. I've got both books that have been published in English, and the Day Watch movie has fuck all to do with the Day Watch book... it's loosely based on the latter two-thirds of the Night Watch book. | Looks OK but historical inaccuries leave my cock sad and flaccid. Mongols slammed into enemy walls at no less than 123.6 km/hr, I have multiple academic and anthropological sources for this. |

| Well, sure.. but it'd be nice if they actually made a movie out of Day Watch (book) someday. Not that I have any hope left for the movies after this one--they're going to be Hollywood-produced and filmed in English. |

| Considering they marketed Night Watch as the first chapter in an "Epic Fantasy Triology" I would expect there to be a third movie... and unless it's pulled out of their ass the second book is game? |

| Third movie is called Dusk Watch, after the third book (which it will likely have nothing in common with). Plus, as I mentioned above, it's going to be produced by Fox rather than just licensed, and it will be in English. Same director with some of the same actors, but some Americans as additions/replacements too. I liked the movies the way they were, and I can't see any possible way in which that's a good thing. On the bright side, the director is also working on comic adaptations of Red Star and Mark Millar's Wanted. |

| Of course it won't have nothing in common. I honestly have no idea how they can pull a third movie, because the story is essentially closed at end of Day Watch. Not to mention they killed a character that is essential for book 4 plot. By the way, how many books are translated into English - 3 or 4 ?

Early rumors about the third movie were suggesting that it was going to be set several centuries in the past, but that doesn't seem to be true. Recently that changed and now it sounds like it's set in the present and the movie takes place in a US city with its own set of Watches rather than Moscow, which makes a whole lot more sense. It will likely suck either way though. | |

+4 Internets | Man, I watched both movies again after reading through the books. I can't believe how horribly disappointing these movies are compared to the books. Everything that makes the books so great, the main character's narrative / attitude, all the nuances about the universe and characters, are totally lacking from the movies. The movies are so far off from the books its almost a complete waste to have made them in my opinion. All the hype for basically a cool looking bunch of scenes. And just an add note, the game is such a travesty. The watch series is easily set up to be one of the best games ever if it was done correctly. Basically, this IP has been butchered by every media spin off=/ Such a shame. If you have any interest in the movies, read the books. They're 100x better. +20 Internets | Day Watch looks good, but I also thought Night Watch looked good and was fairly above mediocre to me and bordered on cheeseball in a few areas. I'll probably DVD eventually but Night Watch really let me down |
