Stardust

The music is recycled from Pirates (I think) and it has Russian subtitles, but it's still a trailer.

Looks pretty good. I'm a sucker for good fantasy stories with luscious landscapes and settings and this looks like it might deliver

Great director, great cast (Sienna Miller excepted, but thankfully Victoria should have very little screen time), and a fantastic story by the best writer to ever put pen to paper... I cannot fucking wait for this to come out. In a perfect world it would be rated R to keep with the original, but I suppose that's asking a bit much for something that will seem like a fairy tale suitable for children to most people not familiar with Neil Gaiman's book.

The opening scene of the trailer looked promising, but the cut scenes of looked b level at best. I'm hoping its just bad editing and early cgi or something.

I just looked at it -- it's not an actual trailer, and it seems to be a bunch of shots cobbled together from unfinished CGI footage and has some Pirates of the Caribbean music on it, and I'm not sure who did it or for what, and it honestly isn't something I'd feel good about linking to and saying "This is a Stardust Trailer". So I won't. It should take you a second or two to find it with a google if you go looking for it. It's possible this might encourage Paramount to bring the real trailer out a week or two earlier than they were going to, but I believe the trailer will be out in the next three weeks anyway.
I hope he's right about Paramount putting out the real trailer soon, as that one is liable to give people a bad impression.

I can see that point, but the same thing was said of the early release trailer of 300 and I don't think that hurt them in the end in the slightest. Those with tinfoil hats might actually say this was a deliberate leak!

The early leaked trailer for 300 didn't look like Mike's 3D Art geocities page circa 1995 either.

Just about everything Neil Gaiman touches is good, and this guy gets his hand into a lot of things. I was surprised to see he had a part in Princess Mononoke.

I haven't read the book or whatever this was before (or is it just that Gaiman's working on the movie?), but de Niro has me interested.

The original was an illustrated novel printed in four issues by DC/Vertigo. The novel itself without Charles Vess' illustrations is easy to find in paperback, but the best version currently available is here. They're also going to reprint the hardcover version in May as a lead up to the movie's release (which was originally May before it got pushed to August).

Not to mention Ian McKellen & Peter O'Toole are in it as well. I wish McKellen was more than just the Narrator. Vorph, since it appears you have read the book, how much screen time do you think O'Toole will get?

And here is a link to the official trailer, which pretty much trumps the other one in all imaginable ways.

I now officially can't wait for this movie.

Huh, I thought Michelle Pfeiffer was murdered by some thug students she once taught, and here she is starring next to Robert DeNiro. Go figure.

And now that I've watched it; WTF I hope those scenes with the main character guy and Clare Danes fighting with Pfeiffer weren't the end of the movie, but they sure looked like it. I mean jeez, leave some mystery to the movie. Why can't trailers just be the first two minutes to the movie instead of an entire plot synopsis. Ya, ya, I know it's a book, but fuck reading, not nearly enough colors and tits.
