Team Captain: August writing NL's 'Shazam!'

Any thought on this? Never really followed captain marvel so no idea on how it will translate to a movie.

i'm kinda excited. it's a pretty cool comic book, one of my favorite DC comics for sure. I really don't know how well it will make a movie though, Billy Batson really isn't going to be winning any hearts. Eh, it should be OK.

Superman and Batman are the only DC comics characters that I think really have a strong chance of making it on the big screen with any success, last we need is second tier characters from a second tier comic company

eh Constantine wasn't terrible, wasn't nearly as good as the comics but it got the general theme across. Of course he's not exactly a DC "core" character. They have a lot of good options if they go to their Vertigo lineup.

I couldn't care less about a Shazam movie unless it means they might make a Black Adam movie next if it does well. Assuming, of course, they'd actually be willing to follow up a PG-13 movie with a very R one.

Definately. That is unless, you know, they *don't* want the movie to suck massive amounts of ass.

There will never be a Black Adam movie unfortunately. Could see them fitting him in a Captain Marvel movie though. But unless they are retarded they'll avoid the DC plague of 500 versions of every superhero. Of course there's 15 superman/boy/girls! 500000 Green Lanterns? Yesplzm and yes I know there's a reason=P Flash, Flash Jr., and Flash the IIIrd? Naturally. And so on and so forth. I'm just waiting for like, 20 alternate universe Booster Golds to show up.

I always thought Captain Marvel was cheesy, and especially childish. Might as well make an Aquaman movie, or a Wonder Twins movie.

the character is childish because, well, he's a child and all. he's not really any less cheesy than superman, not that that really says anything at all.

So Captain Marvel is a boy that says Shazam and turns into Superman... except he doesn't have the weaknesses Superman does... wow can't wait to see that one... seems like an original fresh take on a Super hero movie.

Even more disappointing is that James Cameron actually has the rights to Fathom and hasn't bothered to make the movie. Aside from the obvious reasons, her powers are much more interesting than Aquaman, as is the world/origin/background story of the comic.
