why would they have a press blackout for reviewing the movie until the 6th? thought more press would be positive press and draw more viewers!

I doubt too many in the press would actually understand the movie if it's as true to the source material as that review says.

I'm still kinda betting on awful, though.

Eh, I'm not "betting" one way or another, just thinking the first thing that pops in my head when I hear someone is restricting press access to something... kinda like an MMO that clings to NDAs until the day the game ships. Seems suspicious.
